Quite a comeback, I feel sorry that I questioned his ability to do an 8-ball of coke in his bathroom break   There are times that I wonder if he loses on purpose the first sets just to make things more interesting  . I mean he does it way too frequently the last few years. |

Sinner's as Italian as bratwurst. He's more Italian than your half German half Greek breed in the British royal family. Alto Adige is an Italian region, and we got it more than 100 years ago. At best you can say he has Austrian ancestors, not German. 😝 |

I'd never write off Djokovic making a comeback (he was down 2 sets to love in the French Open final last year against Tsitsipas and came back to win). And Sinner may start realising what he's about to do and start choking the match away. Happens all the time, expecially with the Big 3. But again, it's not surprising that Djokovic’s level in previous rounds was being exaggerated because his opponents were not good enough to know how good his level actually was. Sinner is top level player, so it's an actual challenge. I only felt that Sinner's lack of experience at this stage of a grand slam might hurt him, but he's rising to the occasion. Still, if Djokovic goes out today, Nadal becomes the clear favorite to win the title and the Calender Grand Slam really does look possible. ^^^^^^^ Well, called it on the comeback. Sinner realised what he was about to do and choked away the rest of the match. His level dropped significantly and never recovered. Djokovic upped his level, but honestly, if this Djokovic were to show up against Nadal in a theoretical final, I think he loses in straights or 4 sets. |

Taylor Fritz takes the third set quite easily and leads 2-1 and looks by far the better player today. Nadal is obviously hampered by something because he's playing like a club level player. Certainly one of the worst performances I've seen from him. Fritz should take the fourth set as well by the looks of it. Match isn't very good in general.

I am quite embarrassed how much respect I had for Fritz through this grass season. Nadal can barely serve, literally cannot hit a backhand, and he can't finish him off.

When I turned TV on they were at second set and Nadal was at medical break because of an issue at his abs.
Not sure it was a real issue at this point.

His average first serve speed in the first set was 115, in the second it was 107, and in the third it was 102. Do you think it's mindgames to mess with Fritzy? |

Totally embarrassing, spineless performance by Fritz in that fourth set. Nadal is playing like crap due to an injury but he just shits his pants at the most crucial moments and refuses to put him away. Nadal went for his shots in the last two games and took the set. I still think Fritz should take this, but he needs to man up. Match is a total mugfest, definitely the worst I've seen this tournament.

Imagine being a serve specialist and get broken against an "injured" Nadal 7 times on grass. Spineless performance indeed. Much drama did the match offer, but not that much quality. Epic choking by Fritz, as entertaining as it is it's also quite alarming that this is supposed to be one of the more promising players of the next generation. Good fight by Nadal, but he should have been nowhere near winning this. He probably will shake of whatever is nagging him and stright set Kyrgios in the semifinal.
The most embarassing thing about Fritz' game is his club level volley and how many times he refused or back peddled when getting easy slices to put away by the net. I really don't understand how a professional player can be that bad at volleying.

Great, ballsy win from Nadal in the end there. Didn't let the chance slip by, raised his level in the tiebreak and took the match in the end. Fritz should be ashamed with his performance here. Had a hampered opponent playing at 10% his usual level for 4 1/2 sets and still managed to lose. He was incedibly nervous and passive at most of the important points and, honestly, he didn't deserve to proceed to the semifinal with a showing this spineless, even though he was the better player for most of the match. Nadal showed some great fight and refuse to lose attitude, even though he clearly was having an off day, and that is why he is one of the GOATs. The mentality between the two of them was night and day. The match had some very good points here and there, especially in the fifth set, but overall it was of very low quality. If Nadal plays like this in the semifinal against Kyrgios (and if Kyrgios is focused and doesn't clown around too much) I think he will lose in straights. Let's hope he is at his usual level there, so we can enjoy a Djokovic - Nadal final.  |

What a day......I mean Nadal gets hurt and it's not his foot.........and I love to watch Nick Kyrgios play, but I can't get my head around him playing and possibly having an "advantage" over Nadal - anywhere, any surface, injured or not .....I don't know even know what I'm hoping for: that Nadal loses, wins and loses to Djokovic.............or what breakfast foods I should get for the final  What an odd tournament this year.....  |
