Some rumours:
- Disappointment Boulevard will be In Competition (and is currently 4 hours long) - Don't Worry Darling will be a part of either UCR or OOC - The Whale isn't ready yet - Crimes of the Future is insanely fucked up. The last 20 minutes will cause walk outs, fainting and panic attacks (even more so than Titane). Seydoux also spends a good portion of the movie butt-ass naked
And I think that's it... Actually wait, one more thing.
Apparently there's a new Lynch.

Any buzz yet on who the President of the Jury might be? I've heard rumblings about Cruz and Kidman.

She was part of Campion's crew (as was Refn) and aside from the Jury Prize tie for two films I thoroughly didn't like (not to mention the wrong Julianne Moore performance that year), the picks were pretty solid. PTA and Herzog are my top hopes to headline a jury someday.

Actually expanding on the President thing, I heard that there has been a bit of backstage drama in regards to it. Some speculation is that the first choice is Kidman but she's wary of doing it because Cruise will be there for Top Gun.
I doubt that particular part is true, but something is going on.

Kidman is an awesome choice. Hopefully they find a way to make it work.

I don’t want to get my hopes up, but if this Cannes has the potential for some Cruise/Kidman drama, a new effed-up Cronenberg, AND a possible new secret Lynch … that’s gonna be ten days of heaven for one DeepArcher.

His student should be the jury president.

Once again, grain of salt because it's Ruimy, but he just posted this:
"I just found out there’s a great American male director in competition that absolutely nobody predicted ( and I’m not talking about Aster, or Lynch) nor am I referring to some Venice hopefuls (Schrader, Chazelle, Field).
Also apparently isn't Spielberg or Ferrera.

Fincher's film just wrapped a couple of weeks ago and I can't see him being that fast in the editing bay just to hit Cannes. Payne, maybe?

James Gray? David O. Russell? Noah Baumbach?

A woman of color has never presided over Cannes (not the case at Berlin and Venice)... Seems like they would try to remedy that soon?

She's had so much acting success with a prolific career (Oscar win, multiple Emmys) and a directing career that's just getting off the ground! but my dream pick is still Céline Sciamma. I need that to happen.

Correct me if I'm wrong, but if Gong Li were to do it, she'd be the only person (man or woman) to have presided over all three of the major European festivals?
