ok so Elvis is probably going to get mediocre reviews in the 40-60 range on RT and be the crowdpleasing Oscar contender next winter. BH 2.0

If Kore-eda wins a Palme for every movie he makes from here on out, I'd be down for it

Sounds like a candidate for one of the main prizes, but too divisive for the Palm itself, although Cannes juries can often be surprising

My final predictions before the rumours begin:
Palme d’Or - Leila’s Brothers by Saeed Roustayi Grand Prix - Pacification by Albert Serra Prix du Jury - Close by Lukas Dhont Best Director - Park Chan-wook for Decision to Leave and Jerzy Skolimowski for EO Best Actor - Fares Fares for Boy From Heaven Best Actress - Annabelle Lengronne for Mother and Son Best Screenplay - Cristian Mungiu for R.M.N 75th Anniversary Prize - Tori and Lokita by The Dardenne Brothers
I don’t think there’s a clear frontrunner in any category this year, which is exciting. It feels weird not to predict Triangle of Sadness and Holy Spider anywhere. I bet Les Amandiers pops up somewhere as well.

I nearly predicted Stars at Noon for something just by sheer virtue of Lindon being jury president. Even still, a bit of a surprise.

Yep, Ruben wins his second Palme. Notably going home empty-handed: Armageddon Time, Crimes of the Future, R.M.N. (lol at my prediction from a few days ago), Showing Up.

Is it true that Vincent Lindon said Triangle of Sadness wasn't his favorite film in competition and that he thought he'd have more control over the winners as Jury President?
