I should be voting for Kevin Spacey or Morgan Freeman here. I would also vote for about 10 more Fincher film performances, before considering any of the above five. Still, we have what we have, and four of the above are very good performances, and Pike is in a David Fincher film too.
Mara gets my vote, just ahead of Eisenberg.

Too bad Spacey didn't receive a nod for Se7en. 😞 Anyway, I pick Rosamund Pike.

To me, it's:
#1 Eisenberg (all-time good) #2 Mara (a star is born) #3 Pike (not what I pictured but perfect for what she was going for) #4 Pitt (great use of one's star-quality) #5 Henson (effective)

Eisenberg definitely, with Rooney in a very distant 2nd.

Damn, there should be so many more. Norton, Freeman, Spacey to say the least. 1) Rosamund Pike 2) Rooney Mara 3) Jesse Eisenberg 4) Brad Pitt 5) Taraji P. Henson

Rosamund Pike. Personally I never got the love for Mara. After reading the book and seeing the two films, I thought Rapace was closer to the way of how I imagined Lisbeth Salander. Mara was a bit cringy at times; also, the hair and make-up work was quite overdone and played a bit against her, imo.
