I haven't seen the Ragtime people, but the other six are all brilliant, and I mean brilliant.
Still, F. Murray Abraham is possibly my #1 performance ever, so this didn't even need consideration.

F. Murray Abraham is probably my favourite performance by an actor ever.
There's so many greats in just this small selection though. The Cuckoo's Nest trio are all incredible.

Where were these people calling Abraham the greatest performance ever when we ran the "greatest performance ever" poll? I distinctly remember Abraham making the list but only appearing as high as #2 on one ballot.
And that one ballot was my own.

I distinctly remember Abraham making the list but only appearing as high as #2 on one ballot. And that one ballot was my own. Can't really trust polls like this, nor can you really compare them to different sorts of things like performance rankings. For example, Fletcher wasn't up against Abraham when they competed in that "greatest performance ever" race, but they are here, so it's a different set-up already. And people sometimes will throw support for performances they really like but that they think won't get enough love (I would've, for instance, likely voted Hulce here even over Abraham because I find him insanely under-appreciated and would hate to see him have 0 votes, and maybe even Rollins as well, even though F. Murray is my win and indeed one of the greats), or they vote against performances they think are indeed overrated. These things should always be taken with the biggest grain of salt possible.

Really hurts that Courtney Love's performance in The People vs. Larry Flynt was snubbed. She's the only one I'd consider taking over Abraham here.
