Having said that, at this pointy end of the tournament i'd almost rather have a tough opposition (in the sense that it might be good 'practise' for an opponent in the final). SIde note, how funny is it that Garbine has released an app.. where you create a membership and get to see photos and news updates. Has she heard of instagram?   Seriously, IMG has been trying so hard to make her the next big thing, especially in the last six months. Cute idea (I think Sharapova and Nishikori have apps... then again they have companies and huge fanbases) but it feels a bit premature. |

Anyway, she was amazing. It wasn't that Magda was flat out bad, though you could clearly tell she was a little rattled early, but Garbine just never let her in the match. She played almost the entire thing inside the baseline, and Rybarikova played it almost all behind it. |

Not that I saw the match but even as a hater I have to hand it to Mugu. She's had a relatively painless path to the finals but I haven't seen her play so well throughout an entire tournamnet run.
This current match is EXCELLENT. Very tense in a quiet way. Vee's serve is unstoppable (loved Navratilova gushing about her brave 115mph second serve). And Jo's clutch serving is phenomenal, as well as her groundstrokes. Was sad to see Vee miss that Djokosmash, and she could work on her slices if she gets time, but if she stays cool calm and collected i think she can take this.

 WE DID IT. VENUS DE MILO IN ANOTHER FINAL!!!!!!!!! Gave a beautiful post match interview as well giving major props to Konta, Garbanzo Muguruza, and Serena. Also what a wack crowd lol I know she's your *hometown fave* (kind of... she was playing for us like 4 years ago), but how can you not show a LITTLE excitement for a historic win like this from a legendary Wimbledon veteran? Ah well, ON TO THE NEXT!!!!  |

Well yesterday was a mixed bag really, but I got half the final I wanted, so I won't grumble too much. I don't mind Mugu at all, and I've enjoyed watching her this tournament, but I feel we will see this moment again, 17 years later.  If we don't, I will be genuinely disappointed. So what of today. I fully expect Federer to win, probably in 4 sets. I would love to see Berdych come though it, but I don't see it. In terms of the other match I've been backing Cilic the whole tournament, but I kind of feel like Querry may take this one home. I really don't mind if he does anyway, he seems like a good bloke and he could give us a good final too. |

Berdy's playing so well, just not in the points where it really counts. I am impressed that he hasn't gone away yet, cause he likes to do that, but still. Hopefully he either makes the come back or at least takes a long 5 sets to lose so grandpappy will be tired for Cilic.

Well that's that. I think we all knew he was always going to be in this final, but lets all just hope Cilic can give him a match. As Federer said in his interview, he is more than capable of it, he did it at the US Open.
Roll on the ladies final. I think it's going to be an absolute doozy.
