You are Correct. The Best Director Award goes to Jane Campion for The Power of the Dog.

WTF, Kidman? She was good, but dear god, with Stewart and Chastain in the same list of nominees? Yeah, no.

And what I believe is the last TV award of the night, The Best Drama (Television) awards goes to Succession.

Best Motion Picture Drama: The Power of the Dog. Well damn. Didn't think they'd do it. If it won the populists over here, it's looking unstoppable.

This will not be their only win. Book it. I still think Dog and Campion take it. And there it is.

Game. Set. Match.
The Golden Globes are done for another year.
We made it through.
What does everyone think?

Best Motion Picture Drama: The Power of the Dog. Damn! The last two film winners really threw me for a loop. Please let this kill Belfast. Although instead of West Side Story or The Power of the Dog, Don’t Look Up would probably win instead. I guess Belfast winning doesn’t seem so bad in comparison.

I'm confused, you think Don't Look Up is ahead of TPOTD???

WTF, Kidman? She was good, but dear god, with Stewart and Chastain in the same list of nominees? Yeah, no. Kidman was brilliant and should be the frontrunner to win the Oscar, imho. She is a Globe favorite, but with starry names like Lady Gaga, Jessica Chastain and Kirsten Stewart as options, she was never a gimme to win here. It was always a performance that would play well with the industry. I could honestly see Kidman repeating at SAG (assuming she gets the nod).

Belfast being the lone Screenplay winner doesn't make a lick of sense but hey, at least it didn't win more. Happy for Doge and WSS!

Spencer is safe and probably Colman but not sure about the other 3. Cruz - I think she’s in even though she’ll likely miss SAG. Kidman - I thought she was out, but the Globes win was huge. Gaga - Chastain has better reviews and has been campaigning like her life depended on it, but I think Kidman winning hurt her the most. House of Gucci is one of the few success stories at the box office that’s not Marvel, and she has the NYFCC win.

Not necessarily, but it would be just my luck that I’m happy Belfast lost tonight but that something worse ends up winning in the end.
