Congrats to Keaton and Winslet. I recently watched Mare of Easttown. Excellent show. Sad to see it was a limited series. Very pleased for both. Also, I thought Mare of Easttown was getting talk around a second series. I would be into it if it did. That would be awesome. Perhaps Guy Pierce could play a larger role this time.

Underground Railroad winning series with no other nominations feels very genuine.

Underground Railroad winning series with no other nominations feels very genuine. It's outstanding and fully worthy of any accolades, but yeah, this does read a little sus.

Definitely? I wouldn't rule out Moreno. This is the Actors Guild, who gave her a Lifetime Achievement award. Won't even get nominated. This is SAG - not Film Twitter.

That sounds like 12 Years A Slave to me. People voted for it, even though they didn't see it.

Won't even get nominated. This is SAG - not Film Twitter. I swear this and your blind following of Gold Derby are always your only 2 arguments.

All the easy categories are out of the way. This is where the fuckery can truly begin.

Damn, didn't think they'd actually go for Smit-McPhee.

Smit-McPhee truly surprising, Smith though, easiest call of the night.

This is SAG - not Film Twitter. I swear this and your blind following of Gold Derby are always your only 2 arguments. Yet you claim that Debose is definitely winning SAG and that Moreno won't even be nominated.
You don't know any of that. NOTHING is definite at this point.

It wasn't that long ago when a bunch of you didn't even think Kodi was getting nominated

It wasn't that long ago when a bunch of you didn't even think Kodi was getting nominated I hadn't read the book so I couldn't be sure of the roles, but I thought for sure Plemons (who has been rising steadily in the Academy's radar of late) would be more favored on paper, especially as this category rarely skews as young as Kodi. But obviously he deserves it.

But obviously he deserves it. Predicting Plemons over Kodi before the film premiered was pretty reasonable. But there was like 5 or 6 prevalent users here who were confident in Kodi missing AFTER the film premiered at the fests, and at least a couple of them had seen the film for themselves. Those predictions never made any sense.

West Side Story - Best Picture Musical or Comedy No way. Yeah, just announced. For as crazy as it sounds I have not seen it yet, so I have no idea if it is a good thing or not. But yeah, it just happened. That's all I know at this point.
