Yay Brokeback Mountain!! Will that be the highest-ranked queer film or could there be another?
Really hoping Eternal Sunshine doesn't get #1 over Casablanca.

“Titanic” has, in some weird way, become underrated lately. It’s still a powerful, sweeping romantic story that reminds of those 1950s blockbusters.

“Titanic” has, in some weird way, become underrated lately. It’s still a powerful, sweeping romantic story that reminds of those 1950s blockbusters. People can say it's badly written, and or contrived, but I think it's truly a great movie, a superb spectacle, the kind of which we rarely got even in 1997. The romance is also no doubt a heavy part of its appeal.

Ahhh “Vertigo”. Hitchcock, you sick, twisted, phenomenally talented fucker. It was in my Top 5.

Can't argue with Vertigo being so high. A top tier classic.

Vertigo is one of my all-time favorites but I find its inclusion as a “romance”... troubling...

Even just the concept of “Eternal sunshine” is heartbreaking. Kaufman and Gondry really did something for the ages.

Feels like we could have a surprise in the top three. Casablanca will obviously be there, not sure on the other two right off the top of my head

See, I thought of putting Vertigo on my ballot, but then I'd have to put several other creepy stalker movies in there like The Night Porter and Madoka Magica: Rebellion and, I dunno, Misery.
Of course, TNP did make my list, but it's a two-sided creepy stalker story, so that's okay.

Oh yeah, The Apartment definitely, had that near the top of mine. Not sure about SLIH. Think of that more as just a straight comedy.
