“Beauty and the Beast” is the best Disney animated film and truly one of the great love stories in film history. I'd say that title belongs to THE LION KING but hey , to each his own

I had it in the top five but I am satisfied with Roman Holiday at least making the top ten. Don't remember if I voted for B&B, it was one of the ones I was considering for the last couple spots.
Edit- Gone With the Wind is another one that should be higher. I had it 3 and would have had zero complaints about it making no. 1. But at least it cracked the top ten

“He looks as if he knows what I look like without my shimmy.”
I only saw GWTW for the first time last year and umm it proved my doubts wrong. Masterpiece pre-intermission, very good after too .

I'll never get over how constipated Heath Ledger is in this whole movie. All credit to everybody else, managing to save it from him.

Of all of the movies listed thus far, Brokeback Mountain is easily the one that broke me the most emotionally. Such an incredibly told amazing love story.

This movie was (and still is) a huge deal for a lot of gay people, it meant a lot for us, and it’s also a magnificent movie. Ang Lee may have made better movies but rarely the stakes were higher for him than with Brokeback Mountain.

Check this out Martin Stett : this is how you write a short but intelligent review I at least commented on the acting! He didn't say a word about how it broke him or how it is amazing! Useless review, 0/10, would not recommend!

Completely deserved placement for Phantom Thread, no recency bias. An instant classic.

One day someone will watch a triple feature of Phantom Thread, Dark Obsession (1989), and Footsteps in the Fog (1955), and thank me!

Before Sunrise <<<<<< Before Sunset One is a standard, if pleasant little story that has been done better in the past and in the future. The other builds on it to an aching conclusion of regrets and lost chances. I generally agree, but for that reason I also think Sunrise is a purer romance. Sunset is the better film, but in terms of romance, Sunrise wins out.
