I thought Network would win this, but I'm glad The Godfather won.
Great poll and presentation, Johnny!

A most worthy #1 winner if I ever saw it. Great job presenting Johnny.

Great job Johnny - Interesting how many directors appear here - Scorsese, Altman, Lumet, Coppola, Coens - all the greats and PTA clearly in that company for this board as an actors director. Surprised we didn't see Mann a little more - The Insider maybe I would have thought could make it.....

Smashing job Johnny boyo. You've huddled together the best ensemble of all (MA!) on this sickly Sunday. #Justice for Bonnie and Clyde, Husbands and Wives, The Misfits, Killing Them Softly, Night on Earth, 8 Women….

Excellent work, Johnny... and I'd say close to 100% solid results. I think my top 9 choices made it... not bad! Le Trou, Rio Bravo, The Insider, and Running on Empty deserved better though. And the PTA films shouldn't have been above the Altman's. And I was kind of scared for The Wild Bunch... very glad it made the cut.

60 Long Day's Journey Into Night 58 Dog Day Afternoon 57 The Best Years of Our Lives
Three essential all-timer ensembles! None of 'em in the 50... Very sad about this as well. Best Years of Our Lives was my #2 and both Dog Day and LOTR made my top 25. Long Day's Journey and Seven Samurai were right outside my list as well. If that's what misses, the top 50 must be fucking stellar!

45th: The Thin Red Line (1998) Points: 51 No. of Ballots: 6 Highest Ranking: 4th on 1 Ballot
44th: Apocalypse Now (1979) Points: 52 No. of Ballots: 4 Highest Ranking: 4th on 1 Ballot
43rd: Mulholland Dr. (2001) Points: 53 No. of Ballots: 4 Highest Ranking: 1st on 1 Ballot
42nd: The Breakfast Club (1985) Points: 55 No. of Ballots: 4 Highest Ranking: 2nd on 1 Ballot
Very happy to see Breakfast Club on this list as it nearly made my top 25. Such an underrated ensemble cast and easily one of the best of the 1980s. The other three are fantastic as well, though I'd likely put Mulholland Dr far far lower than what's already been mentioned.

Tied at 39th: Hannah and Her Sisters (1986) Points: 60 No. of Ballots: 4 Highest Ranking: 3rd on 1 Ballot
Tied at 39th: Secrets & Lies (1996) Points: 60 No. of Ballots: 5 Highest Ranking: 2nd on 1 Ballot

38th: The Princess Bride (1987) Points: 65 No. of Ballots: 3 Highest Ranking: 1st on 1 Ballot
Didn't even think of Lawrence of Arabia as an ensemble player, but it does boast a strong cast - even if I feel mainly three performers do a lot of the heavy lifting. Princess Bride is super inspired though even if it didn't make my list.

Tied at 36th: Do the Right Thing (1989) Points: 66 No. of Ballots: 5 Highest Ranking: 1st on 1 Ballot
Tied at 36th: Casablanca (1942) Points: 66 No. of Ballots: 4 Highest Ranking: 2nd on 1 Ballot
35th: The Wild Bunch (1969) Points: 69 No. of Ballots: 5 Highest Ranking: 9th on 2 Ballot
34th: The Irishman (2019) Points: 70 No. of Ballots: 5 Highest Ranking: 6th on 1 Ballot
33rd: The Departed (2006) Points: 71 No. of Ballots: 5 Highest Ranking: 1st on 2 Ballots
32nd: Alien (1979) Points: 72 No. of Ballots: 4 Highest Ranking: 2nd on 1 Ballot
Do the Right Thing was *so* close to making my 25th spot, easily would have been my #26, but glad it still made it. What an ensemble. Alien is dope too. However, can't believe Casablanca is so low. It was my #11 and just one of the absolute all-timers. Seriously, even Sydney Greenstreet and Peter Lorre in about five minutes of screen time a piece give some strong, memorable work. Also I love The Irishman, and it made my top 5 for last year, but I think this is way too generous. Though I suppose as far as recency bias goes, it could be worse (maybe I just wish it was Waves instead ).

26th: Birdman, or (The Unexpected Virtue of Ignorance) (2014) Points: 101 No. of Ballots: 6 Highest Ranking: 7th on 1 Ballot
Wow I even almost put in my last post that if any 2019 film beats out Irishman on this list, it'll likely be Parasite but wasn't sure on this group's general feelings toward the cast there. What a surprise! Tinker Tailor and Birdman are great picks (though I wonder if Tinker Tailor would have even had a shot if it weren't listed as an example in the original poll post).

again to everyone who voted. We really did throw together a worthy Top 5, and Clue in the Top 25 was the obvious highlight of the whole thing. Screenplays are coming later in the year.

Well, this is a surprise. Though I wonder if this QT is already at #23, it makes me wonder how many of his ensembles make it even higher ( Pulp Fiction and Basterds gotta be on this list then right? Or are we that awesome that we give Jackie Brown a spot over them?).

I'm pretty sure if we kept up with that One-Scene Wonder poll, about half the cast of JFK would make the top ten. Such a fucking great ensemble and glad to see I'm not alone on that. Cuckoo is good too, but I'm pretty lukewarm on the film compared to others.

Fantastic pick that almost made my list as well. Lame picture though because Kelly MacDonald, Gene Jones, Barry Corbin, and Beth Grant are missing. And the best part of the cast is hidden behind Brolin's face

One of the few Altmans I've seen, and maybe my favorite as well at the moment. But also as mentioned here it's not full of greatness. Some great performances (Lemmon's is an all-timer for me), and some not-so-great, but hard to resist when you see a film full of SO many great actors like that poster shows.

Short Cuts >>> Nashville Also Royal Tenenbaums is high. Some of these choices are confusing me a bit. I feel like Hackman/Paltrow were the main standouts there. The ensembles for Grand Budapest and Moonrise Kingdom were better. As someone who voted for the Royal Tenenbaums ensemble, I have to disagree. While Paltrow is my Supp. Actress winner that year and Hackman makes my top 3 for Lead Actor, Luke Wilson & Ben Stiller make my top 5 Supp. Actor and Owen Wilson, Danny Glover, and Anjelica Huston are no slouches either. I do love those other two casts you mention, and if I expanded my list to a top 50, Budapest likely would have made it in, but I just had to come to the defense of my favorite Wes Anderson ensemble.

My #2 of the 1950s and yet it still didn't make my top 25. Shows the power of ensembles throughout time, but damn sad I didn't vote for it and yet very glad it still made it.

Peak Position in Poll: 1st

Well, all y'all Last Picture Show fans can thank me for being the #1 vote. Obviously sad this isn't AT LEAST top 5, but I'll take top 10 any day. Greatest ensemble cast ever assembled in my opinion. And this makes up for my #2 vote ( Best Years of Our Lives) not even making it to the top 50.

Honestly a bit surprised this wasn't higher, but I think this is a good spot for it (especially as I gave it my #10) vote. Obviously no slouch though, another great couple of contenders for the cancelled One-Scene Wonder poll.

Glad that the performance of one actress (whose performance I go back-and-forth on) didn't hinder the chances for the rest of this titanic cast. My #3 pick and literally every single actor gives it their all. Seriously, just go through that cast list and tell me they didn't fucking bring it (even Moore brought it even if it wasn't quite the way we wanted lol). Such a shame my two favorite of the cast (Melora Walters and John C. Reilly) never quite got their due for it, and still don't to this day, but at least here we can say they do.
