Jack Nicholson sits alone at the top, but he could be joined by 1 or 2 actors really soon. If ABDitN gets nominated, Tom Hanks matches Nicholson with 10 Best Picture nominees. If either The Irishman or Joker gets nominated, Robert De Niro matches Nicholson with 10 Best Picture nominees. If they both get nominated (which is unlikely), De Niro becomes the new king of the Best Picture nominees.
Either way, Nicholson's time at the top seems numbered. If Hanks and De Niro don't surpass Nicholson, DiCaprio is right there with 8 Best Picture nominees and probably a 9th coming really soon.

I also feel that some of the actors should have an asterisk by their name if a Best Picture that they were nominated in was nominated in a year where there was more than 5 nominees, but it is what it is.

That'd be most of the modern actors on there, including some older ones like De Niro, Wilkinson, and Streep. Also, Pacino is ranked relatively low with 6 Best Picture nominees (even though all of them are from when there were only 5 nominees), but he could well have 2 Best Picture nominees just this year and go up to 8.

OK kind of amazing that De Niro and Pacino will probably have two films each in the Best Pic nominees. Who else could appear in multiple pics, Laura Dern? Scarjo?

I think Pacino is the likeliest to be in multiple nominees. I'd actually suggest that it's unlikely that De Niro will be in 2 nominees, because neither The Irishman (unseen) nor Joker (divisive) seems safe for the nomination yet, though it's definitely a realistic expectation. Marriage Story is the safest bet we have for a nomination and Little Women seems like a contender, so I'd say Dern's chances are on par with De Niro's. With the drubbing Jojo Rabbit got from initial reviewers, I think its chances took a big hit. But I'll see if it places on that audience award thing before I write its obituary.

If she hopefully stays active and with her almost-always impeccable taste, Cate Blanchett could become the woman that starred in the most number of BP nominees.

This is another one of those stats that blows my mind with respect to Dustin Hoffman's great era and how his vanishing act post-1988 is baffling and sad because like I said before his acting work declines shockingly post '88 on film.
But he has 7 of his 8 from the 67-88 golden period of his - and all are leads or co-leads, and he's nominated in 6 of the 7 himself and it's off an insanely small amount of work in the 5 BP nodded era.
He was just in an amazing and almost unique actor/star position in 1988 with acclaim - 2 BA wins, only around 50, a deep and nodded filmography off little work.......and all-time great acting work too in that specific 67-88 era.

Some of it may have had to do with Dustin Hoffman apparently getting blacklisted by someone powerful: Also of relevance might be that Dustin Hoffman currently holds the record for having the most top-billed appearances in Best Picture winners (at 3). To my knowledge, nobody else matches him in that respect (though Clark Gable came very close).

Looks like Robert and Tom matches him this year. However, how impressive is it that he's been able to maintain lead with no acting roles in the years.....

Another possible multiple appearance this year - Idk if Rocketman is still in the running or wayside by now - just GG's? - but Stephen Graham is in that and The Irishman!

She just needs 1 more to tie with the highest and 2 more to lead outright. But Emma Stone is not too far behind and she has age on her side. Jeff Goldblum (Nashville, Annie Hall, The Big Chill, The Right Stuff, The Grand Budapest Hotel) Kevin Bacon (JFK, A Few Good Men, Apollo 13, Frost/Nixon, Mystic River) Sissy Spacek (Coal Miner's Daughter, Missing, JFK, In the Bedroom, The Help) Added.

Goldblum rocking five BP nominees (and none of them being Jurassic Park) still blows my mind.

Something tells me De Niro will be at the top in a few months, with both Irishman and Joker getting BP nods.
