I remember compiling this list back on the IMDb boards with the help of several posters that chipped in with a few names. I figured I'd make some updates and post it again. Needless to say, it's far from comprehensive and could have some mistakes, so any additions and corrections are welcome. 10:Jack Nicholson 9:Gary Cooper Robert De Niro Tom Hanks William Holden Thomas Mitchell Spencer Tracy 8:Daniel Day-Lewis Olivia de Havilland Leonardo DiCaprio Henry Fonda Harrison Ford Dustin Hoffman Burt Lancaster Gregory Peck Claude Rains Tom Wilkinson 7:Cate Blanchett Marlon Brando Bette Davis Robert Duvall Greer Garson Katharine Hepburn Deborah Kerr Fredric March Brad Pitt James Stewart Michael Stuhlbarg Elizabeth Taylor 6:Humphrey Bogart Richard Burton George Clooney Russell Crowe Willem Dafoe Ralph Fiennes Cary Grant Alec Guinness Gene Hackman Paul Newman Laurence Olivier Al Pacino Meryl Streep 5:Amy Adams Kevin Bacon Ingrid Bergman John Cazale Kevin Costner Matt Damon Judi Dench Clark Gable Jeff Goldblum Anthony Hopkins Diane Keaton Viggo Mortensen John C. Reilly Geoffrey Rush Martin Sheen Sissy Spacek Emma Thompson 4:Christian Bale Helena Bonham Carter Jeff Bridges Sandra Bullock Simon Callow Jessica Chastain Montgomery Clift Bradley Cooper Tom Cruise Viola Davis Judi Dench Albert Finney Bernard Hill Ian Holm Tommy Lee Jones Harvey Keitel Ben Kingsley Jack Lemmon Sean Penn Robert Redford George C. Scott Peter O'Toole Kristin Scott Thomas Emma Stone Emma Thompson Kate Winslet Not surprised by Jack, but fun fact to see Tom Wilkinson so high.

Will add all the new ones soon. Bond is an interesting one, because 4 of his 13 appearances are uncredited, so he'll be on the list at 9.

Good God - Are you including The Big Chill for Kevin Costner, even though his scenes were cut? I guess he's still a credited part of the cast?

Bill Camp flying under the radar (Lincoln, 12 Years a Slave, Birdman, Vice)
He may bump up to 5 with Joker as well. Always remember him since he’s also on the list of appearances in back-to-back winners.

Also figures there’d be a few with three LOTRs + 1
Billy Boyd (Master and Commander) John Rhys-Davies (Raiders of the Lost Ark) Andy Serkis (Black Panther) Hugo Weaving (Babe)
Also Sean Bean has The Martian and Christopher Lee has Hugo, but they’re only credited in the extended versions of Two Towers and Return of the King respectively.

Daniel Day Lewis and Olivia De Havilland suprise me, because they weren't specially prolific actors.- Well De Havilland had almost 50 movies in a 44 old year career, but at least half of her filmography aren't a Best Picture material. Day Lewis made only 21 films!!!
Neither De Havilland or Day Lewis are film producers. That's why Leo Di Caprio, Brad Pitt or George Clooney don't inclussion don't surprise me. The same of Elizabeth Taylor or Norma Shrearer, they married the boss.-
More surprising in Tom Wilkinson and Spring Byington.
And I have no clue who Ward Bond, Thomas Mitchell and Michael Stuhlbarg are or were.-

Okay, I just realized that Robert De Niro was uncredited on American Hustle. According to David O. Russell, De Niro asked to be uncredited because he wanted it to be a surprise. Good job knocking yourself down the list, Bob.
