Now let's calm down people ........we can all disagree on this list .........but let's remember the amazing consistency of Mr. Denzel Washington - who has never had a single film - ever, anywhere - on any serious film list critical or popular (see below) ....
* 0 movies in the top 100 Sight and Sound (this year, ever, on any S&S list) - 0 movies in the IMDB top 250 (ever), 0 movies in the Letterboxd Top 250 (ever), 0 in the Critics TSPDT 1000 iirc (that's 1000!), 0 in the AFI Top 100, 0 in Rotten Tomatoes Top 100..... * That's a huge rise for Mulholland Drive btw in @ #8 - with this and Meshes of the Afternoon @ 16 - that's quite a 1-2 placement of (awesome) weirdness * Good to see Ozu holding his ground - you would have thought since this maybe skewed younger this would get knocked down ^ * De Niro shows up 5 more times in the top 250 (Raging Bull, GF 2, Deer Hunter, OUATIA, Heat)........Pacino twice.........Nicholson once ..........Day-Lewis once .......the best actors are in the best movies people ........ and while you can argue DePac / Nicholson & Brando as to who's actually the "American GOAT" and everybody has an opinion ................. if you put any American male actors above those 4.......well you really shouldn't do that.......just sayin' * Lynch shows up with Fire Walk With Me (211) and The Return (152)........

his best movie by far and very deserving to be on here Magnolia is one of his worst films, probably his second-worst after Inherent Vice; bloated, unfocused, and silly. Boogie Nights is far and away his best film despite being encoded with Goodfellas DNA.

The Tree Of Life at #196 from #107 in the previous poll? What the hell happened there? Also interesting that Twin Peaks: The Return and Under The Skin, both more recent, landed ahead of it.

Crazy to think that Jaws and It's a Wonderful Life didn't make the list in 2012. For some reason, I thought they did.
Glad to see All about my Mother there (the only Almodovar on the list, right?) and Twin Peaks: Fire Walk with Me finally getting the recognition it deserves. Also, so happy to see Portugal represented on the list, with Pedro Costa's In Vanda's Room!

Quentin Tarantino was recently a guest on the Bret Easton Ellis podcast and admitted, with a chuckle, that he’s never seen ‘Jeanne Dielman,’ When asked about what he thought of its #1 placement, Tarantino added “No comment.”
But you just know that dude has totally seen The Devil in Miss Jones (1973) and Wasteland (2012) - pacinoyes' 2 GOAT Porn films........um.........just sayin'.......... Ugh, Men......... ammirite Jeanne? www.worldofreel.com/blog/2024/3/8/quentin-tarantino-has-never-seen-jeanne-dielman

Lmao.
