Probably the closest thing we’ll get to a clip from the film: There's still no full trailer, right? Nope and there probably won’t be one either. I also hope the film gets released where I live in the next couple of weeks if it expands it’s theaters/screens. I really would hate to have to get an Apple+ subscription just to watch this film and I really want to see it on the big screen.

Not trying to deal with public transportation in the rain.

I'm still baffled by the fact that Frances McDormand goes completely invisible this awards season. She's awards royalty, the film is a smashing critical success, and Lady Macbeth is the juiciest role there is. It makes no sense.

It might be some burnout since she won Oscars her last two nominations and they feel she might be rewarded enough so the critics are throwing their weight behind other people, which is a shame because along with Alana Haim and Rachel Zegler she has one of the strongest movies behind her for a Best Actress contender. It might be the case where she’s quiet and then shows up Oscar morning to nab another nomination. Wouldn’t surprise me a bit since she is pretty much royalty with AMPAS now. But yeah it is strange and kind of sucks in a way because she was the driving force for bringing this film into fruition with convincing her husband to take on Macbeth.

It's very easy to understand the reason behind these snubs, if she didn't win a third Oscar for Nomadland, and only three years after her second one, she would be in the conversation for a nomination.

Is this going to get a wide release or is it just going to stay super limited until it moves to AppleTV? I’d love to see this on the big screen but isn’t playing anywhere near me.

She's awards royalty, the film is a smashing critical success, and Lady Macbeth is the juiciest role there is. It makes no sense. I’m not. She had two recent wins under very specific and unusual circumstances, and suddenly people started acting like she’s Meryl Streep. There are very few other years where her Nomadland win would happen, and it was mostly a result of a very fractured race where the two frontrunners were vying for the same biopic vote. She’s of course popular and well liked, but they’re not going to just throw nominations at her like she’s Streep. McDormand still only one has one nomination for a weak film (Almost Famous would surely be a BP nominee in a field of 9-10) I liken this to when Hanks was completely snubbed for Apollo 13 despite that film being absolutely massive, coming close to winning BP and Hanks actually having the reviews to justify being in contention.. it just felt like the performer had been rewarded enough in such a short time span, so the industry looked to more exciting options

But I also think she just really doesn't give a shit, Joel doesn't give a shit, Denzel doesn't give a shit. So the studio has to do the heavy lifting, and they're just . . . not. It remains to be seen if they'll gun it hard once industry awards start, but I'm just not seeing the blueprint yet.

She's awards royalty, the film is a smashing critical success, and Lady Macbeth is the juiciest role there is. It makes no sense. Part of the "problem" with McDormand and to a lesser extent Denzel is their best scenes are individual not shared - that's defintely true of McDormand in her first scene, the "out spot" scene, her ending scene etc Even their best scene together involves Lady Macbeth playing to the crowd - when 'Zel goes all batty , um, birdy ..........they are both in quite good form but a lot of things you have read about the movie are flat out false and that's one of them .........this is not a heavyweight acting face off in the way you normally think of it - it's more a "shared version of Macbeth" because of the middle cuts. Now that might not matter to actors - we'll see - but for critics awards they see that a different way - I mean all of the winners of awards so far for actress are far more integrated in their pieces than McDormand is in hers...........and McDormand is isolated on a soundstage too mostly ..........it's not quite Adjani in Possession but it's not too far off from that either..... Even when she speaks TO Macbeth it's to tell him to man up, grow a spine, etc. - it's "at" a lot rather than "with"

Ugh... Denzel would be frontrunner if people didn't need google translate. Yeah that's the reason... Ignoring the fact that this has great reviews and audience scores.

Blasphemous as it sounds, I think I agree with him here. Might give the film another watch next weekend before it goes to streaming.

I’m a bit jealous as it doesn’t look like I’ll be seeing this in the theater. I’d really love to but closest to theater to me currently playing it is close to an hour away and that’s not really in the cards for me.

I live in a big city and they only decided to release it in only one theater so I had to drive 35 miles to go see it. The theater I usually go to is only 10 miles away. But I wanted to see it on the big screen and not have to get an Apple + subscription.

What's so funny is that while watching the movie, you don't once say, why is Denzel cast as the lead. There were so many people hating on the fact that Macbeth can't be black.
