Damn fine montage, Viced old boy. Love the use of "Knockin' on Heaven's Door" (a song I really wish I could give my 1973 Best Song win to, but alas, "Mother Earth and Father Time" edges it out). Coulda done with some The Proposition, though.
Watching this makes me think we should do a "50 Best Western performances" poll.

Well, no need for the poll I guess, I'm going to assume most neo-westerns were rejected the if "No Country" missed.

I imagine with more time "Scruggs" could've made it.

Wish The Naked Spur had made it a bit higher, best Stewart/Mann western with ease if you ask me (and I like them all), with a dynamite villainous turn by Robert Ryan.

Whoa Pat Garrett was exceedingly high on my list, that's a surprise to me - here's a hint btw - improves big time on re-watch.

Meek's a good add, if to get a female filmmaker in here but also cus it's damn good. Clever premise, patient, detailed, topical.

Never mind on the neo-westerns. Hud makes it, worthy on a "Best of" list either way though.
