So Burrows is going to be the #1 pick? He clearly looks better because his team is that good. He'll look like a dead fish once he gets to the NFL - and especially if selected by Cincinnati. I think he can do better in Atlanta though, because they'll be in reload process soon and by the time they fully reload Matt Ryan is probably gonna be done - giving way to Burrow and a better team around him. So he should hope Atlanta keeps losing, in my opinion.

Agreed though that having a guy sit behind Matt Ryan ala Favre/Rodgers would do absolute wonders for any rookie QB. I just don't see the Falcons picking a QB at this stage.

No playoffs for Bama this year lmao I think they can still make it. They need Oklahoma to beat Baylor though - because then Oklahoma will have only have one really good win (not counting the Big 12 championship game). It would also help them if Oregon loses - because while Oregon's schedule isn't strong, they have one loss to an Auburn team that wasn't a bad loss. And if Auburn loses to Georgia and Alabama ending the season 8-4 - that lessens the strength of Auburn, and in sequence Oregon too and all that helps Bama. LSU, Ohio State and Clemson finish undefeated, leaving 1 spot open. It's gonna come down to Bama and Oregon/Utah if the winner of that championship is still at 1 loss and they should give the advantage to the Pac-12 champ considering Bama isn't even going to make the conference title game. Auburn dropping their games against Georgia and Alabama shouldn't reflect too negatively on Oregon considering all 4 Auburn losses would be to Top 10 teams and Oregon only trailed in that game for 9 seconds on a neutral field.

I think Bama could still get in because it's Bama. Let's remember this is not an NCAA run event like the tournaments in other sports, it's an ESPN TV invitational essentially. So it's about money and ratings. Alabama and Notre Dame are the biggest TV draws by far in the sport, maybe USC is up there with them too. Which is also why Notre Dame is always going to get in if they're anywhere close.
It absolutely should be Clemson, SEC Champ, Big 10 Champ, and Pac-12 Champ. I don't like letting in non conference champs outside of extraordinary circumstances. Utah and Oregon are both better than Oklahoma this year.
As a side note it would be such a great story and be great for the sport if Minnesota beat OSU and made the playoff.

I think Joaquim is right. If circumstances are equal, they'll probably take the Pac-12 Champ. Bama has 0 wins against top 25 opponents even though they'll get that Auburn game. Oregon also has 0 wins against Top 25 opponents. The common opponent there is the 8-4 Auburn team (assuming they lose to Bama and Georgia)
Still, I gotta think Bama still has a chance if the 4th choice is too weak, and simply go undefeated in a weak conference. They need Oregon to lose, badly. And Utah possibly too.

That would be a bigger win for the winner than anything Bama has.

They don't have any great wins. They can make an argument if they have some great wins, but they'll have at most one top 25 win (Auburn).

Take out the win over Texas A&M and you could stretch it to 75 and reasonably say Bama still wouldn’t have a win against a Top 75 team. Of course, that’ll change when they play Auburn.
Clemson loss would also be gold for Bama and those PAC-12 teams but Clemson ain’t losing again. That UNC game was a wake up call and they’ve demolished everyone they’ve played since like Ohio State’s been doing all year.
Would be funny af if they lose to Wake Forrest now.

HAHAHAHA. I'm enjoying this Oregon vs ASU game. Herbert sucks. Another West Coast QB that's gonna bust in the NFL.
GO ASU! Upset these golden quackers. I hate the Ducks (in any sport).
The Pac 12 doesn't deserve to get anyone in anyways. They're still overall a weak conference, and the 2nd best SEC team is still better than the best Pac 12 team.

Still though, I'd like to see Oregon pull this off then beat Utah in the Pac-12 championship so that Alabama doesn't get in. IDK if Utah can get in over Bama even as a conference champion and Oklahoma's current ranking is the committee telling us they're not getting in unless Auburn beats Bama next week.
EDIT: Just checked the score. Oregon's not winning this fucking game. Liv Cowherd is getting HORNED UP.

I think the best scenario is if Georgia beats LSU in the SEC championship game. Then I think both of them gets into the playoffs and then there's no controversy between Utah/Oklahoma/Alabama. Time is running out on Oregon indeed..... but if Utah beats Oregon in the Pac-12 championship game, I think committee will go with Utah. Utah will have a win stronger than Bama's best win (Auburn), and they even have to still beat Auburn. Neither teams have any other top 25 wins besides that one, but the conference championship that Utah won will make the difference between Bama and Utah.

If Georgia beats LSU it's absolute chaos for that 4th spot. Georgia has to get in if they win the SEC championship but then you got Alabama who's Alabama and some will vote them in for that alone vs LSU who beat Bama. I'd put LSU in of course in that situation but then we'd just get a rematch of the SEC championship.
I think Utah's best bet to get in as a Pac-12 champion is if Oregon wins this game actually. Sure Utah would still have a win vs a top 10-15 team if they beat Oregon in the championship but that would be their only win against a ranked opponent. If Bama beats Auburn I don't see a path into the playoff for Utah.
Oregon just lost so they're officially done. Utah's best argument at this point is that they've won 7 straight, their only loss coming to a USC team that's very good at home and they've won 12 straight when their starting QB and RB play a full 4 quarter game together and their loss against USC was when the two weren't able to play the full game together due to injury.

I bet Ole Miss feels pretty embarrassed right now. You gotta have an IQ of 23 to do things like that. (dog pissing on the field, and then losing 10 seconds later)

(dog pissing on the field, and then losing 10 seconds later) That guy also called a fair catch earlier in the game after he caught the ball and then stood there and got wiped out by Miss State's whole kick coverage unit. At the time it would have seemed far fetched that that would only be the second dumbest thing he did in the game.

Well this ended up being the only championship game worth watching.
Wisconsin's looking real good. If they can hold that 21-7 lead...... I'd give them the #4 spot.
1. LSU 2. Clemson 3. Ohio State 4. Wisconsin

Now there's no question who's gonna be in the playoffs. *Snooze.... that's how I'm gonna feel this entire Christmas football period. It was looking like this was going to be a more exciting playoff with a Pac-12 team and the chance of a B10 championship upset. But now outside of LSU switching out for Bama it's the same old teams. LSU/OSU should at least be a great game.
