Absolutely ridiculous for the Indiana Fever to fire Christie Sides. She had a rough start to the season, but got the team gelling and got them into the play-offs.
The WNBA in general is just ridiculous in firing head coaches this season, up to 7 now (many of whom did well with what they had), but I think the owners are just seeing dollar signs with the new popularity of Women's Basketball and not thinking rationally. Greed will do that.

Thank goodness. No Caitlin Clark in Unrivaled this year. The stated Rookie Limit was 4 and Aaliyah Edwards is the final rookie announced. Nothing against Clark herself, but thankfully the worst elements of her fanbase will just have to sit on the sidelines for the first season. Again, all the Clark/Unrivalled stuff lately was bullshit, because she along with Angel Reese would have been the first Rookies they asked months ago. It was just a stupid non-story to keep Clark in the news because she isn't really relevant in the off-season.

Oh, and Kate Martin is the 4th highest Jersey seller in the WNBA. She has a legitimate fanbase all her own. Unrivaled would want her for her own drawing power. Clark has already said she is not playing professional basketball this off- season. Not everything is about her. Unrivaled would be dumb not to go after a rookie that sells more Jerseys than her teammate A'ja Wilson.

Jesus Christ....Angel Reese narrating (and starring in) the Beats Commercial, featuring GOATs Lionel Messi, Serena Williams and LeBron James is insane. She truly is the new face of Women's Basketball.
Reese has figured out a way to make people interested in whatever she's up to round the clock. As talented a player as Caitlin Clark is ( and she can certainly be argued to be the new face of Women's Basketball as well), I don't think she's quite worked out how to maintain interest in her when she isn't playing basketball (hence this Unrivaled nonsense, because there's nothing much to talk or care about with Clark in the off-season). Clark's people/managers could actually take some pointers from Reese's management, because her motion is non-stop.

Only Florence Pugh among young movie stars making it would indicate this generation of young starlets is not as popular as this board thinks. Zendaya is popular among young people. And Margot Robbie is probably the most recognizable face in movies among this generation. But even she's not anyone every mom and dad knows. I know Rapinoe gets a lot of hate for non soccer reasons but as a player she's a legend. We don't win 2019 without her. I think my mom only knows Tay and 2001 Berry from like 23 years ago. |

Chicago Sky didn't mess around with their new Coach Selection. Former Las Vegas Aces Head Of Player Development and 2X WNBA Championship winner Taylor Marsh. As likeable as Teresa Weatherspoon was, Marsh is a huge step up in terms of coaching experience and tactical know-how. He might actually turn the Sky into serious contenders.
Marsh is also a big fan of Angel Reese based on past tweets, so it seems obvious that he's not only going to make her ( and Kamilla Cardoso) the lynchpin of the team, but also help improve any weaknesses in her game. This pick actually shows how much the Chicago Sky value Reese, because Marsh is a coach that will support her as much as Weatherspoon did. Huge dub.

One of the first things Tyler Marsh did after he was hired was to call Angel Reese. The Sky's franchise player. Guess the " Teresa Weatherspoon got fired for catering to Angel Reese too much Agenda" has taken a big hit, since Marsh clearly see's Reese as the leader and lynchpin of the team.
