The best player in the world A'ja Wilson pays Angel Reese the ultimate compliment by saying she see's Reese as a "younger version of her". And that is what it comes down to. Reese's ceiling is that like Wilson, she can potentially become as good as her, offensively and defensively. Her game isn't there yet, but scary times if or when it does get there. Would love for Angel to work with Aja for an off-season. Not only for her basketball game, but he she conditions and trains to get her body ready for the season. Feel it would pay big dividends for her. |

Sounds like some non-story bullshit to try and keep Caitlin Clark in the news, because she's not relevant in the off-season and busy playing golf or whatever. Clark has already said she's not playing any professional basketball in the off-season, so this Unrivaled are begging her to play stuff sounds like nonsense. They probably asked her months ago, and she gave the same answer that A'ja Wilson and Sabrina Ionescu gave, which is that they wanted a break from Pro basketball. If Unrivaled does well in it's first season, I expect those players will be invited again for a 2nd season. But honestly, I think Unrivaled has already got their bag ( a TNT deal to screen all the games) for the inaugural season. The WNBA Championship play-offs between the New York Liberty and Minnesota Lynx are averaging 1 million + viewers a game, when all Caitlin Clark Stans claimed the ratings would be a bust and a disaster without her in it. The interest in Women's Basketball is real now, and it continues with or without Caitlin Clark. Someone like Angel Reese ( who is in Unrivaled) generates so much motion and media attention by herself alone, that all eyes will be on Unrivaled just on her presence. With players like Napheesa Collier and Breanna Stewart drawing more fans and attention with their play-off run, I think Unrivaled will probably do pretty well and definitely get a lot of attention when it launches. And to be honest, it'll be great to see some Pro Women's Basketball for at least one season that doesn't have the more unhinged CC bandwagoners trying to make everything about her. Like the moment she gets fouled, her fans and media click instigators will ask for the FBI to open an investigation or something . It's insane work, and I think everyone can do with a long break from it, like these current play-offs |

Terrible ending for what had been a great series finals and a terrific advertisement for Women's Basketball up until this point. The game was pretty much ruined by the officiating, which were giving calls to New York Liberty and pretty much none to Minnesota Lynx. Lynx had the game won in the last 5 seconds of regular time, but the refs called a wrong foul for Liberty to give Breanna Stewart two free throws to send game into overtime. Congratulations to the Liberty I guess, but the manner of their win will leave a sore taste in many mouths. Not a great look for the WNBA, with so many eyes on this final. Even LeBron James thought the game was decided by the refs.
Napheesa Collier was the best player in the game today and of the series and still lost. Breanna Stewart and Sabrina Ionescu played terribly tonight and are champs. But I'm not sure the Liberty will get the respect of champions because of how the win was decided.

Damn. Lynx coach Cheryl Reeve going innnn! That shit was stolen from us . Unfortunately for the New York Liberty, this is the definition of a pyrrich victory, because practically everyone who watched the game believes they were gifted the win by the refs. They are "Champions" but none of their reputations have been enhanced by this title. And I actually think a robbery of this calibre probably enhances Napheesa Collier's chances of being the league MVP next season, if she has a strong regular season performance. Her reputation was enhanced more from this series than the star players from the winning team Like I've rarely seen a "win" unite everybody who usually wouldn't be caught dead agreeing with each other. I feel a little bit bad for the Liberty, as they will always be seen as illegitimate or paper champions. |

Napheesa Collier deserved to win series MVP regardless of the loss, but congratulations to Jonquel Jones for being named series MVP for the New York Liberty. She ( and the Refs ) definitely got them over the line when the bigger Liberty stars like Ionescu and Stewart went missing.

I feel bad for both teams honestly..although the Lynx even more. They played their hearts out. The WNBA has alot to work on moving forward as a league with the amount of eyes on it now and that includes investing in better officiating. Hell talk to Adam Silver and see if the NBA can supply them with some of their officials for next season while the NBA is in the off-season.
