Yeah, I just saw mother!, and there really is no fucking way this is getting any Oscar attention. I at least thought they wouldn't be able to resist Lawrence, but even she is not getting anywhere near that lineup.

I despise every Carrell's performance except Foxcatcher. I dunno, I think it'll do well. Should resonate with American audiences especially. And why you hating on Carell? I thought he looked kind of heartbreaking in the trailer (I know it's just a trailer but still).

I'm still going with The Post for BP, because the fact that we're still without a major frontrunner paves the way for it to hit with a thunder and hijack the season with its uber-timely political subject matter and A++ talent involved, but what else does it win? Some are speculating Streep could get it, but until we see more, I'm sticking to Winslet with McDormand as an alternate. Maybe Hanks, if he goes Supporting, but I don't see him switching categories. Three Billboards is exactly the type of thing they reward in Original Screenplay, so I'm not feeling The Post for that one. Maybe a tech or two? Costume Design, Score? Spotlight pulled off BP with just one other win, but it was Screenplay.

I think people are underestimating Mudbound. The entire cast is superb, it has a great screenplay, it's beautifully directed...If it doesn't get several nominations I'll be calling scandal. I'd especially love to see one for Hedlund.

I'd especially love to see one for Hedlund. Supposedly, quite a few people in Hollywood don't like the idea of Netflix movies crashing the party, so to speak. For that reason, the film remains a bit of a wild card.

I'm not a superfan of the movie but I genuinely think that Dunkirk has the most realistic chance. Unless somehow, by some miracle McDonagh or Del Toro becomes the general concensus. I don't buy The Post thing, the release is way too late.
