Hopefully, no actor's strike. He's not in WGA so that won't stop it.

I like him. Plus Tarantino knows how to work with actor's strengths.

I wonder if there will a big ensemble of more known actors to accompany Hauser.

That's a big budget. QT's biggest, I think. There must be some A-listers in supporting roles.

Well, since it's supposed to be set in the 70s, I bet QT is gonna do all of the set design practically, just like in OUATIH. And transforming whole streets costs a pretty penny. Plus there was this Paul Schrader interview where he suggested that QT might not only recreate but also redo scenes from certain 70s films in this one (Schrader specifically mentioned QT wanting to change the ending of Rolling Thunder... which would fit right into the whole point of QT's "Cinema Speculation" book). And I'm sure we'll see quite a cast as well. Although this being his most expensive movie kind of goes against his own notion of his last movie being more of an epilogue after the grandiose OUATIH. But maybe he's changed that notion.

Looks like Tarantino is trying to find roles for all of his regulars. The cast is going to be insane.

I find Tarantino uses Leo’s strengths as an actor better than Scorsese does. Even though they have only done two films together.

I prefer "fun" Leo but The Wolf of Wall Street and The Departed are still his best two peformances for me.
1. The Wolf of Wall Street 2. The Departed 3. Once Upon a Time in Hollywood

I find Tarantino uses Leo’s strengths as an actor better than Scorsese does. Even though they have only done two films together. I actually agree with this. I don't think much of the Calvin Candie character but that's more to the writing than to what DiCaprio's doing (although I would say he's outclassed by every actor he shares screentime with in that movie, and Don Johnson as well as far as the movie goes), but Rick Dalton feels like he achieved a true marriage of the minds with Tarantino, whereas I feel it took until Wolf of Wall Street to achieve the same thing with Scorsese, and then he immediately lost it with Killers of the Flower Moon. DiCaprio is not a chameleon. He wants so very much to be a Day-Lewis or De Niro type, but that's not what he is. He's a movie star, and he works best when he plays with that image and leans into it ( Once Upon a Time... in Hollywood) or outright perverts it ( Wolf of Wall Street). But he is absolutely not an actor you can just stick in any project and he'll work. As for this project, I hope that if he is in it, he's playing Rick Dalton.

Looks like he'll have to choose between a small Supporting role in this one or the Lead in the new PTA film, loool.
I think this time he'll go for the latter.

He seems to be more drawn to darker characters. I feel like he wants to give performances like one of his other idols Montgomery Clift. Him and Scorsese watch a lot of his movies. With regard to Killers, I'm actually surprised he didn't go for the Hale character instead. Hale was actually in his 40's at the time (in Leo's age range and not near his 80s like De Niro, who was great). I think that character would have played more to his strengths where he had to use his more effortless charisma to sway people combined with an underlying menace and intensity.

I wasn't sure where to put this but decided to post here since we are speculating on his next role.
Do you think this is The Movie Critic? I'm not sure why he wouldn't be able to discuss PTA's next film.
