Rated 18 by BBFC (strong violence) check it on its site. Surprised there isn't more here tbh.

I've only ever had to do that with Gone Girl. It's weird that they'd only mention violence - maybe it's just that extreme . Regardless, I'm more hyped than ever for this.

Someone who only READ what happens in the third act of mother! says it's almost too insane and stomach turning and that the Academy will hate it. Aronofsky is gonna be showing the movie on Academy screening maybe someone pukes

People are sharing the plot on Awards Watch and yeeeaaaaaahhhhhhhhhh I think some may actually faint watching this Though it's not much disturbing to read than what happens in The Witch I'm sure Darren's direction will make it a nightmare

It's definitely starting to feel like this won't be for the Academy, but I personally am getting more and more excited by it. Heard it's gonna be a love/hate thing, though all I've read seems pretty positive.

To be honest what's worrying me is that what I read doesn't seem very...coherent in the third act. As in it makes little sense. But I just read short summaries of the last part of the movie so maybe something prior explains it.
But I already see people declaring they won't watch because the content is too much. I remember one book adaptation where the director refused to use the similar scene when it comes to content because he thought it was too much

I was actually okay with not wanting to be spoiled, but then after reading the way he described it, I was like I really want to know. Now I sort of wish I hadn't because I don't think I can take watching it, one thing that clearwatergirl and I have in common, but I guess it's better to know ahead of time then being surprised while watching it. Anyhow the way he described it, I agree that it didn't really make a lot of sense; although, I guess it makes sense, or at as much sense as something like that could make, in the film.

I'll keep my expectations in check, because the last time I heard about people fainting during a movie was the arm-cutting scene in 127 Hours and that turned out to be disappointingly tame, but I'm definitely here for an insane 3rd act.
Hoping I can miraculously go another 3 weeks without having this spoiled for me.

It's something you would expect in Rob Zombie's film not Aronofsky's flick with A listers

After reading everything over at AW I think I'm going to need to be put in a coma until the 15th to avoid spoiling myself, lol.
I can't imagine if it's truly as bad as everyone is saying it is, that Jennifer Lawrence or Michelle will get nominated...

It is to be noted that I was 9 when I watched the movie and that scene.

Raves from the playlist, calls it "Scorchingly Brilliant", grade: A "In through the nose, out slowly through the mouth…If you are not familiar with the Lamaze breathing technique for women in labor, acquaint yourself with it before donning your hazmat suit and embarking on Darren Aronofsky’s “mother!” which uncoils from a murderously tense, tricky and claustrophobic first hour into some of the most sustained escalating insanity (and scorchingly brilliant filmmaking) ever to burn down a cinema screen. An incendiary religious allegory, a haunted-house horror, a psychological head trip so extreme it should carry a health warning and an apologia for crimes of the creative ego past and not yet committed, it’s not just Aronofsky’s most bombastic, ludicrous and fabulous film, spiked with a kind of reckless, go-for-broke, leave-it-all-up-there-on-the-screen abandon, it is simply one of the most films ever." Seldom has a title ever earned its exclamation point in more emphatic fashion. In fact it deserves a few more, so here they are: !!!!!!!!! theplaylist.net/mother-venice-review-20170905/
