Not sure if this is a big deal for The Power of the Dog or not. Doesn't kill it (Shape of Water had a similar haul) and Belfast and WSS also took some licks but missing Ensemble sure kept things interesting. 3 of the last 4 Best Picture winners didn't get the nod, and Green Book and Shape of Water both had 2 individual nominations if not the 3 that this had, so I don't think it's that big of a deal.

Mamma Mia, Jared Leto with back-to-back SAG Nominations. I was wrong about Bardem, he's still very much in the race for an Oscar nom. Nicole Kidman the new frontrunner? And of course.... either Kidman or gaga have been frontrunners for months. Remember, I called Stewart a fake frontrunner from the get go. Right now though, I would consider gaga frontrunner.

Stewart was someone who was always going to be more popular with critics than the industry. Likewise, Smith was always going to be more popular with the industry than critics.
Kidman is currently the front runner. She won the Globe. That will change with whoever wins SAG, etc.

Wtf these are so basic!! Is the Stewart snub most shocking in the SAG history ever? She was so good. And wtf is Tender Bar? Congratulations to Kidman, I guess? I'd pretend she won this for her Jimmy Fallon appearances as opposed to whatever that was the Lucy movie. *also totally expecting this page to go upto double digits And not a single foreign film?😒

Could someone please explain why no TPOTD in Ensemble isn't being considered a major snub? I don't see too many reactions to that. That movie very much felt like an ensemble film to me.

Forgot to mention Denzel now moves ahead of his tie with DiCaprio for the most noms in the Best Actor in a Motion Picture Category with 6 noms.

The ensemble category has movies that came out early. I wonder if other snubs except for streaming films was an issue.

I think this hurts it more than it did Nomadland or Green Book which had pretty good excuses but like we said Belfast didn’t come through this unscathed. I agree it’s not a huge deal but it didn’t help. For fun I can see a direct comparison between Belfast and Spotlight (missed both supporting actor contenders at SAG) as well as one Between TPOTD and Shape of Water. (3 acting nods but miss ensemble)

Three of the four cast-members got individually nominated, and it could be that they felt that was enough. The Power of the Dog is a very small ensemble so it missing out here isn't a death knell.

Cooper??? Loool. SAG keeps being ridiculous, Jamie Dornan or Ciaran Hinds will take his spot at the Oscars.
Also, i think the same will happen for Bardem, the fifth spot is still between DiCaprio and Dinklage, and Don't Look Up is getting bigger in terms of audience.

Even made the BAFTA longlists today as well. Will probably correlate with the Oscars as well. First Shakespearian performance nominated for Best Actor in over 30 years. Last was Branagh in 1989 for Henry V.

I know everybody is losing their sh it over awards horses Denzel and Cooper and all the others ......... but take a moment to fellate the grand old man of American cinema - Al Pacino - who remains unparalleled as the GOAT and awards horse: 4 SAG nominations (3 from TV), 2 wins (both TV), 3 out of his last 4 movies (!?!) have SAG ensemble nominations at the age of 79-81 proving if you put him in your movie, your movie gets better immediately - all 3 of those have a huge comedy component too .......and he's one of only 2 actors (with Geoffrey Rush) to have won in all of the big 6 entertainment awards: BAFTA, Oscar, Emmy, Tony, SAG, Globe.....and his 12 individual awards across those are still the all-time record. ...........and the SAG doesn't cover his career peaks.......

Cooper is in. It will be a make-up nod for not being able to fit him in Lead for Nightmare Alley. The LP ensemble snub is DISGUSTING. Really looking forward to DGA now.
