How's this for an idea: just bin the whole project, put Mangold on the Uncharted movie, kick out Wahlberg and Holland and let that be our new Indy franchise.

There truly is no point in making the fifth Indy now. There wasn't really a point in making a fourth one. If he ain't punching Nazis, he ain't Indy. Nathan Drake is the Indiana Jones surrogate we need right now.

I doubt this film will ever happen.

Don't really care. Spielberg shouldn't be wasting his time on bad scripts and a geriatric Harrison Ford.

Why even bother making it then. Just dump it.

I don't like Spielberg dropping out but tbh I also don't like the idea of another Indiana Jones movie.

Let's just cancel this. I don't need to see a legit elderly Ford run around in action sequences to deal with a three quarter life crisis. For all of Skull's other problems Ford still looked good enough to be somewhat credible in the role, so doing another one wasn't an entirely bad idea, but this will just be embarrassing. There truly is no point in making the fifth Indy now. There wasn't really a point in making a fourth one. I'm glad that we are indirectly acknowledging that ToD is not a legitimate part of the franchise either. I'm sick of the "reevaluation" it's getting on the internet. It was shit in 84, it's shit now, Spielberg was right to apologize for it.

Still have no interest in watching a 80 year old Indiana Jones.

The one thing that might make me interested in this is Fleabag meta-commenting the whole movie.

Harrison Ford at 80 still playing Indiana Jones is pretty fucking laughable.

Raiders of the Lost Aarp
Actually don't usually mind sequels, to anything, but I'm just not a fan of the series. Waller-Bridge tho could be fun here.

I'm guessing Harrison Ford is there to bring on the nostalgia factor and pass the mantle to Phoebe Waller-Bridge who will become the female Indiana Jones.

I can't wait for the big chase scene, with Ford on his mobility scooter.

As the Girl Boss, I suppose. A plucky, empowering female lead who's gonna show Indy what adventure is really all about! I'm still very sad about this not being directed by Spielberg. And about it having to exist at all.

This is now the third major franchise she's been attached to, all in a span of a few years? Crazy. Not the direction I'd prefer for her career but whatever I guess. Echoing everyone else's thoughts about why the hell does this movie need to exist etc.

Have they not learned from Crystal Skulls? Maybe Mangold wants to give Indy the Logan treatment.
