Looks decent. Based on the trailer, the Oscar talk is valid. My concern with this movie is that this is not a YT Tom Cruise best of running reel.

As a die hard Larrain fanboy (I even sat through all of Lisey's Story) it is becoming harder and harder for me to say that in Pablo I trust. Hopefully this isn't as bad as it looks, but holy shit this looks more babe in the woods than season 4 of The Crown devolved into. Also, while that last line seems to me like it's probably a moment of black humour or sarcasm or something, just dropping it in there like that out of context is a LOL'r

Hope is not all about villains and victims, I would be far more interested on an adaptation of the Morton/Brown books, and why they can't drop that song ? it's so silly

Better than the first trailer tho. Hoping this is more messy and melodramatic than Jackie-esque Moody. I think you'll be satisfied
Guys, don't judge this movie by this trailer. This is NOT the film you think it is.

This trailer sort of won me over about this project, really looking forward to it now. As a long time fan of KStew I wasn't too sure about her casting in this, but she really looks on the money here. Bring on that Oscar nomination.

All things considered, I definitely think you will hate this.

Chills. I think we're seeing Kristen Stewart's moment right here.

A.A. Dowd on AVClub was not a fan and trashed Stewart's performance and called her miscast.“A fable from a true tragedy,” the opening text promises, promisingly. Yet Spencer is airless as drama, every bit as hemmed in by its schematic design as Diana is by her life in the blinding spotlight. The problems begin with Stewart, an often terrific actor struggling to disappear into her role here. It’s hardly the end of the world that she doesn’t much look or sound like Diana, that she hasn’t mastered the mannerisms or the accent. In lieu of a convincing impersonation, however, what we mostly get is studied, breathy neurosis: a caricature of frazzling nerves. Stewart never seems to find an emotional reality for the icon she’s playing; the resonance begins and ends with the stunt casting of one hounded target of the bursting flashbulbs as another.

I've seen a fair few critical reviews of the film itself, but I think that's the first I've read that has anything less than great things to say about Stewart. Should be seeing this tomorrow or Saturday. Can't wait.

Opens with a 52% audience score on RT.Jackie had a somewhat similar trajectory, so I don't think this kills its chances by any means... but I wonder if the approach this story takes will be a harder sell for the industry, even with its on-paper baitiness.
