I have this feeling they will choose The Trial of The Chicago 7 for Picture and Supporting Actor. Best Actor maybe Ahmed? They usually deviate from the rest of the bunch in a few categories.

I have a feeling Anthony Hopkins is going to win here for Best Actor. If he's going to reenter into the thick of the Best Actor race after the regional critics awards, its here.

Riz for Best Actor I think. Hopkins is a good pick too though.

The NBR used to have a real love affair with both Clooney and Eastwood at the height of their awards season prominence.

Midnight Sky is a feasible player here.

They gave it to him in 2007 for Michael Clayton as well over DDL. One of the few awards bodies DDL didn't win that year for TWBB. Shit, he might just win again this year.

I suspect they just aren't that into DDL, as he's never won there (I can imagine NBR seeing There Will Be Blood and taking a pass on it). He's in good company though. They've never awarded Denzel or Brando either.

That's why I'm thinking something like Da 5 Bloods is going to get completely snubbed today. NBR has ignored Lee throughout his whole career (which is a little surprising considering they are a New York group), only recognition they gave him was having Malcolm X in their top 10 of 1992 at #10. They didn't even have Do The Right Thing in their top 10 in 1989. I would actually be surprised if they awarded D5B anything today.

Would be very surprising to me if Da 5 Bloods did anything of note there.
