#2“I've seen things you people wouldn't believe.”Blade Runner1982~ Ridley Scott453 points from 26 ballots Highest Placement: #1 on 1 ballot-- Sharbs It reached #2 despite only one ballot ranking it #1? Nuts. Not that I'm complaining, it's an incredible film with one of the most ethereal film scores of all time.

My thoughts on Do the Right Thing and its ending: It's being debated/discussed 30+ years later more than the 99 other great films of the decade on this board. I hate to be cliche but the point is that you aren't supposed to like the ending. It's a bona fide classic.
Great list and amazing presentation!!!
Biggest snubs for me were Au revoir les enfants and Running on Empty. I would've preferred Pretty in Pink over Ferris Bueller or Breakfast Club, but alas this isn't just my list. Fun to see Clue and Little Shop of Horrors make the cut, even though I didn't have the guts to vote for them.

Blade Runner at #2 is surprising, I feel like just 5 years ago it would've been at least several spots lower, if not outside the top 10 altogether. Maybe 2049 brought people back to it and it was re-evaluated? Great movie either way, didn't crack the top 10 on my list but I'm not bothered by this placement.

Fantastic presentation wilcinema - Can't complain. I, like anyone, am shocked Empire was #11. I thought it would've been surely Top 5, with a chance to be #1. - Now curious how the 70s are gonna shape up. Feels good to pass the baton to someone else, doesn't it?

wilcinema Hats off, way off. You clearly did so much work here, made it easy for us writing some reviews, and made this presentation a lot, a lot of fun. Sei un vero eroe! Grazie!!

I think I had Amadeus in the teens somewhere on my ballot, but it is a beautiful movie and I will not complain about it winning. There could have been far worse choices.

It seems that my own perspective of what constitutes a great film is very different than that of most people on here. I mean I enjoy stuff like Raiders Of The Lost Ark, The Princess Bride and Back To The Future, but they are mostly films meant for escapism. I definitely wouldn't put them above films that I find contemplative and thought-provoking.

Amadeus is wonderful and makes for a great winner. Lowkey one of the funniest movies ever made.

Iffy results, but it was nice to wash the bad taste of the '90s presentation out of the forum's mouth. Well done, wilcinema. Take off the gloves and relax now.
