Hello! Sorry for the delay on this, I've been a bit busy. The results for the top 50 all-time achievements in cinematography will be presented (tentatively) this Saturday, August 1st, at 11AM EST. Hope to see y'all there!

A total of 274 films received votes for this poll. Since there's so many beautiful, innovative films that missed the cut, and because we all love looking at pretty cinematic images, here's 20 honorable mentions, the highest-placed films that just make the cut of the top fifty. As I personally felt many of these deserved a mention, I decided they should at least get a shoutout. So here they are, listed from highest to lowest ranked (i.e. the first is #51, etc...):

Before starting this list, I gotta give a huuuuuuge shoutout to our dear friend Lubezki who volunteered to create a bunch of gif compilations for this presentation. So, all of the visuals you see from this point onward are courtesy of his efforts. So, again, a huge thank you to Lubezki !!! #50.

Always loved Kaminski's dazzling cinematography from Saving Private Ryan. It wasn't superficial at all. It just brutally horrifying. Good choice.
And why is Heat's cinematography #47? Where are the pleb minds congregating on that?

Hard for me to agree The Last Emperor's cinematography (which is conventional by comparison) is better than Cries and Whispers', Heat's, or Tess'. Especially the last two.

Gordon Willis not winning for one of the first two Godfather films is absurd.
