When you've got all of these Goldwater/Reagan-type Republicans saying they will vote for Biden... just wow - you know it really is a choice between the United States of America and Donald Trump. pacinoyes

Trump’s campaign strategy of pointing to chaotic events that are currently happening and saying “This is what will happen if Biden is elected” is a bold one, I have to say.

I’m surprised how bad he is at campaigning right now. You can make an argument that he’s doing a better job campaigning for Biden than Biden is doing campaigning for himself haha. Trump had such good political instincts in 2016 too, which shocks me of how bad he’s face planting at the moment. The polls are looking horrible (trying to make an argument of how the 2016 polls were off is a false comparison). I know the general election is still a few months out and things can tighten up, but things are looking awful for Trump.

Trump cancels the live RNC in Jacksonville.......yet another big setback......yikes. The move is a striking turnaround for Trump, who moved the convention to Jacksonville after North Carolina's governor raised public health concerns about having massive gatherings in Charlotte, as the GOP had long planned.
Pared-back events in Charlotte will still be held, Trump said.

Ben Shapiro (or was it peter schiff?) on jre brought up a good point on why he thinks Biden will trounce trump in this election. It was easy to attack Hillary, she was horribly unlikable and easy to attack. If trump wasn’t the most despised candidate in history, it was Hillary. Meanwhile Biden, with maggots in his brain and barely alive, if he can avoid the gaffes or cover them up effectively, you’re essentially asking trump to beat a dead horse

I know there's no way Ohio won't go red because we seem to be going backwards here instead of forward like the states around us even WV, (like seriously who would have believed a few months ago that the WV governor, who was ridiculed for telling people it was safe to go to eat at Bob Evans, would declare a mandatory mask order before Ohio's governor finally did), but I love that Trump's team is spending so much money here since they probably thought they'd win Ohio easily before 2020. The only downside is that whenever I'm watching one of the local stations, every commercial break I have to watch one of his ads. I don't know if I can take it all the way until November 3.

Trump awful, but the other is worse, and his party, once great, is even worse than Mr Alzheimer.- Any way I think Mike Pence is an excellent VP. At least 50% of the ticket is more than OK.- So I hope for the good of the US and the world, that Mr. Orange won (unless Biden other ticket would be great, but I have no hopes when the most polled canidate are Stacy Abrams, Kamala Harris, the Chicago Mayor or Pocachontas Warren )

The depressing thing about Ohio getting redder and harder for democrats to win, is that for the longest time it was considered the nation bellwether. The state that generally went to the winner of the electoral college, but it's demographics are so worse off, young people are leaving the state at an alarming rate, and its education level is plummeting, that it's not hard to see why it's been going strongly Republican as of late. Of course Trump is his own worst enemy, and his actions are making the state much more competitive. If Ohio is gone, then Trump is already well-finished.

If Trump had a Southern accent, would there even be a debate about his racism?

If Trump had a Southern accent, would there even be a debate about his racism? It's actually scarier that he doesn't have one.

Yes, American mainstream media has been very reluctant to outright label him "racist." And you're right, his voters don't care about anything except him. It's a cult.

Well, working within the media myself I can understand this reluctance a bit, even if it's legit. Do they at least point out, when his speeches are clearly racist instead of calling himself a racist? This should be no problem for them. Regardless I think his remarks speak for themselves.

For a massive chunk of his voters, the racism is a feature, not a bug.

The media - and they hate Trump with a mad zeal - actually do a decent job of pretending not to call him that by using the Trevor Noah method which is "I "feel" he is racist by his policies" (paraphrasing)........which causes a big problem with Trump who will spin that (see video below) which appeals to his base and in 2016 to undecideds (2020 probably not so much).
The US is so fncked up that walking dead man Joe Biden literally straight out called the racist President a racist when even the media usually won't.............that's acceptable now apparently to run for President and be that blunt.....your party will back you up too.
A pox on both their houses....

For a massive chunk of his voters, the racism is a feature, not a bug. Exactly. What did I say earlier in this very thread, that Trump knows when to turn on the racist tears. Anyone who doubts Trump is a racist is a moron. This man used to put a C on black people's rental application and then deny them housing.

He’s also empowered his base to act more openly racist in public.
