So hold up. After Biles withdrew and Osaka took some time off, Djokovic said how pressure is a privilege and how if you want to be at the top of your game, you better learn how to play with pressure. Then fast forward a couple of days, mans broke a racket and tossed another one in the stands, only then to also withdraw from his doubles bronze match, fucking over his partner.
Lmao, you canโt make this up.

I remember this song was very popular at the times of Moscow Olympic games in 1980...almost all the athletes in Tokyo weren't even born.

Im just saying that in light of American success in gymnastics this Olympics, the main 2 people of this contest responsible for this country's medals are these 2. I appreciate their performance on the vaults which in turn made me really like their personalities. Im simply saying they look adorable together as this is the only interview they've done together to my knowledge.

Lmao, you canโt make this up. I like Djokovic because he's good at tennis but pulling out of the doubles match was a dick move. If he wants to know why he's less popular than Fed or Nadal that's why. Although I guess tbf that has more to do with him sulking about losing the singles than "pressure" but he's still a dick.

I was wondering how two guys could share a gold medal in the high jump... and then I saw what happened. Judge: We can continue with the jumpoff. Barshim: Can't we have two gold? Judge: ...uh, it's possible - Competitors: YEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEAAAAAAAAAHHHHHHH!!!

No wonder they shared gold.

I only have base NBC, so it's a little disappointing that it focuses almost solely on track and field or swimming or the other "big" sports. Without Youtube recommendations, I would never have known that the coolest "judging" sport exists. Forget gymnastics or diving, this is the most audience friendly stunt sport. This was seriously awesome to watch.

The men's freestyle is even cooler:
By far my favorite events so far. I never even knew about freestyle BMX until today. This looks inherently fun, whereas most sports look like they're challenges to be overcome.

Streaming the basketball game. Love that they're playing the NBA on NBC theme again.
If they play the way they did in the second half today in the gold medal game they aren't losing although they should not get down early against Luca or the French team that beat them like they've been doing.

Super Gregorio Paltrinieri! He got bronze and missed silver for 2 seconds after 10 kilometres swimming. How great is this for a guy who got mononucleosis in June and already won silver in 800 metres free style?

Gotta say, I always love the Olympics, but I'm really enjoying this one, even if the time difference sucks. Roll on Paris time . Such a shame there's no crowds in Tokyo, but I think the personality of the competitors is shining through. Loving that some of the sports that tended to be so dominated by certain countries are seeing a decrease in that. Athletics is seeing seeing such a spreading of the wealth, although the Jamaican ladies still know their way around a sprint. The three world records have been fantastic too. Jacobs taking the gold in the 100 for Italy was a highlight, and cool to see it taken outside of the American continents for the first time since 1992. The US mens 4x100 team , will they ever get there shit together. Another highlight is not seeing Gaitlin on the start blocks for the first time in a while. BMX continues to be an awesome addition to the roster of events, especially with the addition of the freestyle. The racing is heart in the mouth stuff and the freestyle is just jaw dropping impressive. The Skateboarding and Climbing have been excellent stuff too. I wasn't too invested in the Surfing in all honesty, unfortunately I found it a bit dull.
Swimming also caught my attention more than usual this time. Something about the "who between the US or Australia will win" in almost every race seemed lesser this time. I appreciated that for sure. Other countries actually managed to take 15 golds compared to the 20 shared by the other two. Maybe things can tighten even more by Paris.
Event of the games so far though, the Mixed Triathlon relay. I could have watched that for another 90 minutes and still been riveted. Loving this 4th place battle between Great Britain (Northern Ireland doesn't exist apparently), Australia and Russia under a different name. My own Ireland even have a shot of finishing with a decent medal haul. We have 4, with a shot at another two or three. By our standards 7 medals if we got it would be really great. A more realistic 5 would still be quite good. Especially if the guaranteed silver or gold boxing medal we have now, turns gold.

Surfing was dull from what I saw, and I only got about a minute of rock climbing which also looked kind of boring. But BMX and skateboarding (well, park skateboarding anyway) were such great spectator sports. I love the Olympics for the stuff that is never given attention outside of the Olympic setting, as stuff like shooting, mountain biking and rhythmic gymnastics are some of the coolest sports to watch. The Winter side always has some awesome stuff like alpine skiing, snowboarding, curling - pretty much all of it is exciting. Which reminds me of my single favorite Olympic moment: Ester Ledecka winning gold in Super-G in 2018. That look on her face is one of the most awesome things I've ever seen.

Lol, exact opposite for me. The time difference has been amazing, but Paris time is going to suck ass.

Watched the Handball gold medal game on CNBC tonight. I know we have enough ball sports but I'm surprised it's never caught on as a spectator sport in the US. It has the fast pace and lots of scoring like the US sports public likes.

Huh, karate is a new sport too. I just watched the women's kata finals.
I, uh... have no clue what the hell that was.
