Certain people on our forum are going to love that. Haven't felt like that after seeing a new release since Phantom Thread. Don't know if the "whole lot of movie" comment is just referring to the content or if that means it is going to be long. It's 2.13 hours. That's not too bad.

Really encouraging. Both Phantom Thread and Parasite are for me perfect films and the only recent two.

It sounds like Cooper is barely in it but I wonder if he can sneak in since Supporting Actor feels very thin. The Academy loves PTA so Cooper will be on their radar.

That sounds like a nightmare. His films have been bad lately because of their half-assed, rambling nature. Jeez.

MAR punching bag World of Reel - great for gossip, not so great for movie reviews imo - has reviewed sorta ....Licorice Pizza - so take it for what it's worth..........but I'm not sure where this ends up but I'm also not sure I'd feel this way about it because his taste doesn't overlap with mine much ............sometimes: “Licorice Pizza” is messy, passionate, flawed, brilliant, and, really, just all over the place. It’s going to polarize many. This isn’t going for Oscars, and all the better for it. I don’t consider this to be a review as much as a way for me to put down all the thoughts I have on the film. I’m honestly not quite sure where it ranks in the PTA oeuvre, it’s definitely not as hefty as his best films, but it’s a worthy addition."www.worldofreel.com/blog/2021/11/qglxy64w4jm8ld4ruwxvi92nexefj2

Hadn't been too taken with the trailer for this, but with these reviews (and it being PTA, of course) I'm fucking excited.

I'm shocked there's so little discussion of this but is anyone else weirded out by the age gap? Hoffman is playing a 15 year old and Haim is supposed to be in her 20s.

I say nah ........or at least I say that on November 15th .........ya never know......... www.rottentomatoes.com/m/licorice_pizza

I haven’t seen it yet obviously but basically everything I’ve read suggests that the film very much acknowledges this and the relationship between them is not romantic, much less sexual. I’ve seen the comparison made to Rushmore once or twice.
