Blind Beast (1969) - 4/10 Did not enjoy. My review. tl/dr: Watch In the Realm of the Senses instead.

The Devil's Candy (2015) - 7/10
kind of underwhelming. The father-daughter relationship was cute though.

13. I Saw the Devil (2010) [re-watch] - Just as intense and fucked up as I remember it... and it's time for more people to start putting some respect on Choi Min-sik's name as one of the best performances of the decade. 8.5/10

Scream And Scream Again (1970) - Not even horror in some ways, more political conspiracy mumbo jumbo and one with the horror triumvirate of Price, Lee and Cushing too and that title its a wtf movie (sort of like a film with your 3 favorite porn actresses called Cream and Cream Again where they remain fully clothed).
Price had a great early 70s with Dr. Phibes and Theatre of Blood and this one could have been a great addition to it but it's too sloppily written and directed and its no fun. But it's a great idea - the mad scientist, the corrupt totalitarian government, the international conspiracy of madness.
Damn.
5/10

Crimson Peak (2015) - 5/10
hated it. Expensive sets, pretty costumes, and Chastain flailing around with a meat cleaver can't redeem this utterly lifeless, soulless drag of a story.

The Haunting (1963) - 8/10
Creepy enough, but the film's best quality is Julie Harris' brilliant performance as a sheltered, shy and guilt-ridden woman with nothing to live for.

More of a Halloween inspired list rather than horror-specific. Will update as i go. Stealing Hellzapoppin''s format
1. The Wicker Man (1973) - 7.5/10 2. Cat People (1982) - 6.5/10 3. The Evil Dead (1981) - 7/10 4. Evil Dead II (1987) - 6.5/10 5. Practical Magic (1998) - 8/10 6. Scanners (1981) - 7.5/10 7. The Love Witch (2016) - 9.5/10
8. Audition (2000) - Love me some slow-burn horror, but this was kinda dull and didn't do any tension building until 1hr into the run-time. But once it hits, it stings. the last half-hour was terrific. 7/10
9. Who Can Kill a Child? (1976) - Saw it in a packed theater. I thought the actual narrative was great, hated the coda at the beginning especially when you have another character later on fore-shadow the later events. Pretty tense. 7.5/10
10. I Know What You Did Last Summer (1997) - some awful sequence, but entertaining enough. 6/10

Oculus (2013) - 7.5/10
I enjoyed this one a lot. Mysterious and atmospheric and genuinely terrifying at times, even if all the jumps between timelines started to grate on my nerves, especially toward the end.

15. Cat People (1982) - it was interesting for about 15 minutes... and then I just started caring less and less about what was going on as it went on. 5/10

11. Apostle (2018) - REALLY Liked this. Each character was ever so slightly under-written. It could've done with a more frightening cult to begin with, but I thought it had a great sense of atmosphere and setting to bolster the tension. Ending was so cathartic. - 8.5/10

16. Goosebumps 2: Haunted Halloween (2018) - first one was fun... this one was mostly a dud. They really should just full-on adapt one of Stine's better books... 5/10

17. Halloween (1978) - still fucks me up after all these years. Those final 15 minutes especially are killer... and maestro Carpenter's film-elevating score really is the most effective horror score of all time. 9/10

Kwaidan (1964)
It's easy to see why this is so well-loved. Some of the most striking filmmaking I've seen in a while. Kobayashi's grasp of cinematic language in this film is staggering. The images he conjures are evocative, poetic, and unforgettable. My jaw is on the floor.

Vera Farmiga worked so hard in this. God bless her.
