One dog goes one way and the other goes the other. And this guy's saying, "Whaddya want from me?" The guy's got a nice head of white hair. Beautiful. The dog, it looks the same.

Mixed feelings about this poster. It was always going to focus on the three leads and there's only so much you can do with headshots of men in suits. Look at GoodFellas. De Niro looks menacing, which I like What I'm less keen on is the ultra high-def look of the actors' faces. It's consistent with that first still they released of Pesci and De Niro in a bar, in that both images look almost like stills from a console game. I wonder if Scorsese has gone for an ultra high-def look to the whole film in order to make the CGI faces less noticeable within the overall composition of each shot? It would make sense but, personally, I don't really like that aesthetic because it makes me very aware of the fact I'm watching a staged production.

From what I know, there are many scenes he has shot on traditional film and not digital. Maybe the non-cgi scenes? Who knows...

This is a cool little video about the detail in one scene and supposedly a new trailer comes out tomorrow - if we don't get one, don't kill the messenger Booked for Chicago, Rome, Tokyo, and Lumiere De Lyon now in addition to NYFF and UK btw and everybody is going to Rome and UK at least it seems and assume NY as well.

So I have a chance to see this movie.
If I go to New York on Friday and wait in line, and happen to get my ticket.... I can see this film.
Only problem is.... it's 14.50 train ticket to attempt to see a film that may be sold out. But that's the only way I can do is to get there and see. Don't wanna give up 14.50 for no reason, but then this seems like a big thing.
I'm also only minimally interested. I know it's Scorsese, but I don't think it's gonna be as good as Goodfellas or The Wolf of Wall Street. I'd be glad to be proven wrong, but I also think it would be a bit hypocritical to wait in line for a film I'm not as interested in as more other diehards.

You could pay the train ticket (and plane ticket also) and let me wait in line!! If you have the chance to see this in November in a movie theater, then don't bother with NYFF. Since you're not that interested, there is no point in going to NY withoit even knowing if you get to watch it. Of course it's a movie you should see in theaters if you can. Just my opinion...

Um I would say being minimally interested is the problem............. In the words of Paul Newman in The Verdict - there is no other case, this IS the case. Spend the 14.50 and if you can't get a ticket spend the night in New York, there must be something to do there in that sleepy little town......... Tell 'em Marlon.....

Odd comments from Rosenthal. Why describe the film as "slow"?
I guess she's trying to get across that it's not fast-paced like GoodFellas, but why not use words like "brooding" or "suspenseful"? "Slow" is not a good description for a 3.5 hour-long film.
Maybe she's trying to pre-empt criticism of the film for being boring?

She isn't saying the movie is 'slow', she's saying it's slower than the Scorsese gangster movies we're all used to. Which is a good indicator of what the movie's intentions are and a reminder to folks that expect another "Goodfellas" that they're gonna get something different.

Vaguely insulting but I'll get over it......you can't stop people, particularly those involved in its creation from talking about it. Still, I don't need her to tell me about her film, let your film speak for itself.
"Toxic masculinity" is about as meaningful, and only slightly less sexist than "Corrosive femininity" - I just made that up, you can use it, go ahead.
Also, I'm not too surprised that the film with 3 leads - combined age 235 - is slower.......and it's her way, I guess. of saying Anna Paquin may be more major than initially thought ........

This looks really impressive much better than the first trailer did. The first pic looks a bit weird (and apparently he's supposed to be 24 in it which...okay) but overall these are fine. Although seeing it all in motion will be another thing. The only thing I find weird is changing De Niro's eye color. That sticks out the most to me.

How did that PlayStation 5 Call of Duty render wind up in there?
My worry still isn't so much the CGI of the de-aging (although that clearly hasn't been entirely ironed out), but how the characters are going to actually move. Was it septuagenarian De Niro traipsing around with a Tommy gun in World War II, or did they get a body double a la The Social Network and graft his face onto it? Because if that's the case, at which point can you separate the two?
