Great stuff again, and again only minor quibbles. It wasn't necessarily an episode that gave us a lot to talk about, but it was mostly pretty fun and entertaining, especially the Dougie and Janey scenes. I'm living for some of facial expressions Kyle Mac is giving us, and Naomi is just ruling this show if you discount Kyle Mac.
One thing that will piss me off about this season, is Richard Horne not being significantly important to the show overall. He is way too obnoxious and horrible a character to have to put up with if it isn't going somewhere worthwhile. He's the one new character I could easily do without.#
Edit
I am actually going to bring up a minor quibble. That Becky & Steven scene felt a little shoehorned in, even by this shows standards. It was a real case of 'Oh, remember these two new characters, they still exist'.

Cooper's face when he was eating that cake was amazing. Priceless.

Favourite thing about the whole episode - Richard is a complete asshole with a short fuse and a raging tempter who treats everyone like shit, but he calmly goes about his business with this "Hello, Johnny. How are you today?" thing going on and on and on and on. Funniest thing this show has done so far. Also, I want one of those things.

I'd really like to see the guy playing Richard in more stuff. He's playing such a fucked up role really well.

Dougie's completely overjoyed face during sex has got to be the funniest thing ever.

This is probably the first time the stinger music at the Roadhouse has actively irritated me (as brilliant as Rebekah Del Rio is). I feel like the wave was cresting and it was about to come down hard, with all of the disparate elements coming to a collective head (the Mitchum brothers' planned hit on Dougie, Richard Horne on the run, Diane's betrayal) . . . and then, the music kicks in and I gnashed my teeth over it. With all of the other episodes, the musical interludes feel like a respite, coming down from the high that the show engenders in me week after week and settling me back to Earth. But with this episode, I feel strangely hollow. Everything was great in it, but if ever there was a week for a two-hour chunk to be granted to the audience, it was this one.
Speaking of, what made Cole suspect Diane in the first place?

My favorite thing about the episode is just how many different emotional waves it was riding. From genuinely warm and sweet (Dougie and Janey-E, Albert and Jane Adams's character) to genuinely funny (the Mitchum bros and also Dougie with Janey-E) to genuinely unpleasant and disturbing (Richard Horne and that fucker who was with Amanda Seyfried) to genuinely creepy (Gordon's vision or that highly pecular way Tammy walked to the door in slow-mo with that signature Lynch sound). My only complaint about the episode is that was the shortest one yet. And five of those minutes were occupied by the song (albeit a beautiful one and hey, a Mulholland Drive reunion continues! also Moby ).

I hope Coop and Janey-E stay together, even after he snaps out of it. Such a perfect couple.

Yet another solid episode which could've been smashing had they not spent 10 hours on that casino guys and 20 hours on that MD lady's never-ending song. I love Twin Peaks, a LOT but I am not really a fan of how they're ending each episode with a song. It always leaves me wanting for more. I actually did not even make that connection to the lady singing. Then again, it's probably been about ten years since I actually watched Mulholland Drive so it's certainly due for a re-watch at some point. It's funny, I actually felt like this song was the one that felt the most like old Twin Peaks, and David Lynch in general - especially considering he co-wrote it and parts of the lyrics said something to the effect of "going back to where it began" so I think the song is super indicative that everything is about to culminate into something big. That being said - and I agree with stephen here - the song at the end mostly doesn't bother me if A) there is an additional scene either after or during (i.e. James showing up and staring at Shelley, the girl with the rash, etc.) or B) it's after an intense climax or big revelation. This episode had neither and just went from a confusing, cryptic monologue (though also strangely general) from the Log Lady into this like seven minute song. It also bugs me because they only put the "Starring Kyle MacLachlan" up when the song is near its end. Why not just let the credits roll while the song plays and keep letting the song play even after the credits are done? I hate just sitting and waiting thinking "maybe there'll be more after??" and three minutes in realizing it's just credits. Then again, these are minor issues. And the only reason it's even upsetting is because we have to wait another week (or two) each time. I guess that's just our generation, perhaps, but still could better utilize the songs within the episodes (ala Nine Inch Nails in episode 8) or play a bit of it then go to a scene at the bar then back to it to end the show. Oh, and Drish, Sarah Palmer actually showed up already in the second episode. It was only for maybe like thirty seconds and she was staring at a TV screen with a bucket of cigarettes, but she was there. Definitely waiting impatiently for Audrey, though. These last two episodes have pretty much been transitional, only serving to further the plot and not to build relationships or characters (save the Dougie/Janey sex scene in the last and Matthew Lillard's re-appearance the episode before). So I hope they work their way back to what was making this season (and the series itself) so strong before.

I feel like Audrey's not going to have a big part to play in this new season. Could be wrong though.

More great stuff:
--Fuckin' Carl can just summon a VW bus with a whistle. This character somehow becomes more likable with each episode.
--Amanda Seyfried is absolutely crushing it in a role that could easily be overblown. I love how her storyline has turned into a heartbreaking and realistic depiction of an abusive relationship.
--What the actual fuck is happening to the townsfolk of Twin Peaks?
--I loved getting the Log Lady's most ominous prophecy yet. Absolutely cannot wait to see what goes down with the black fire.
--Sad to see Lillard go because I was loving his role, though I totally enjoyed that scene (and Gordon's reaction: "He's dead.") Also, with the coordinates from Ruth Davenport's body, does this mean that Gordon & co. are getting sent to the same place that Truman and Hawk are headed to?
--All the stuff with Dougie and the Mitchums was hilarious. I was convinced that Coop was gonna snap out of it in that last scene. How naive of me. Should've known better.

That woman in the car screaming at Bobby about being late for dinner before going into total freak-out mode when her kid sits up and starts acting like a zombie was one of the absolute best moments in this new season. It was the perfect blend of disturbing and fucking hilarious. I can't get over how well done it was.
Definitely my favorite episode of The Return so far.

This is definitely one of my favorite episodes. Extremely intense to ridiculously hilarious to that beautiful last scene.
- Had some of the most terrifying scenes including the first scene with the kids playing (I thought one of them will be run over again. Glad nothing happened and hopefully Miriam will be saved).
- So many scenes that instantly goes from being funny to horrific and vice versa esp that screaming lady in the car. It was superfunny at first but then 😱😱😱
- Love how Coop is slowly returning but I'll miss Dougie so much.
- And completely agree on Amanda Seyfried and Matthew Lillard. Both of them were so amazing. Shame how the latter is gone so early.
- WTF Shelly, you haven't changed a bit. Still the same old gorgeous, stupid lady. Poor Bobby!
Lovely episode and I cannot wait to see what is up with Gordon Cole and co.

Assorted notes on Episode 11:
* Glad to see Miriam is alive. I thought that the inconsistency in the characters' name in the credits/screen would turn up as a plot point to expose Chad's incompetence, but I guess this works as well.
* Aw, Steven is such a tool and now he's swept little Gersten Hayward into his poisoned orbit? Tough break.
* Becky-on-the-warpath was great to watch. Amanda Seyfried's been woefully underused thus far in the series; I've long posited her as a perfect Lynch heroine, and it seems things are aligning for her to become Laura Palmer 2.0.
* Having just finished Riverdale (and really enjoyed it), it's such a swerve to see Madchen Amick going from the conniving Alice to the goodhearted (but nevertheless flawed) Shelly Briggs. Also, poor Bobby.
* Of course Carl has a Legend of Zelda-esque whistle to summon a VW out of nowhere. Harry Dean Stanton needs to be in every goddamn scene.
* The Honking Lady is basically Lewis Black in female form. It's good to know if we ever need to remake The Goonies, we have Mama Fratelli's perfect casting.
* The Buckhorn scene was incredible. First you have Gordon Cole pulling a Rust Cohle (distant relative?) in Carcosa, then Albert being a total bro and saving him, then Diane exposing more of her nefarious side as she watches the Woodsman obliterate Bill Hastings's cranium (farewell, Matthew Lillard; hope there's sun and scuba in the afterlife), then Brent Briscoe flipping the fuck out afterward. Such a phenomenally staged sequence.
* The Mitchum Brothers are the absolute best. I would love to see an entire series based around their escapades. I also think that Don Murray is insanely underrated for his work as Battlin' Bud Mullins; he seems like such a stand-up guy and a great boss.
