Skyler should've attacked Walt with a knife in Season 2 Which episode? I’m currently doing a re-watch and I’m on season 2

I was sarcastically riffing on the Breaking Bad back and forth but I also think I'm right lol. She confronts Walt at the end of S2 about his bullshit and that would've been an appropriate time to, well... attack him with a knife Because fuck Walt.

Watching the show again but now as a fully grown adult, I found myself disgusted by Walt’s actions as early as late season 1. The internet losers who still fiercely defend Walt are all the more insane. Skyler was the one who was protecting her family. Walt did it for his pride and ego

On first viewing it sort of feels like the show intends for you to sympathize with him (esp in S1 which does have some terrible Skyler writing) so all the internet bros made him their hero but the final couple seasons puts all that nonsense to bed beautifully. enjoy the ride

I never understood the hate for Skyler, even back in the day. Her husband puts her through hell and she should just accept it?

I never understood the hate for Skyler, even back in the day. Her husband puts her through hell and she should just accept it? 1. Misogyny 2. Walt's actions, while morally unsound, are undeniably entertaining and Skyler acting as the rational voice of reason would mean that she acts as a roadblock for those entertaining actions to the audience. 3. Misogyny

I never understood the hate for Skyler, even back in the day. Her husband puts her through hell and she should just accept it? It's a symptom of 'these' shows. Carmella Soprano got the same thing and (unlike Skyler) she's actually a good character (and amazing performance). Betty Draper too, though she got popular the last couple of seasons.

I never understood the hate for Skyler, even back in the day. Her husband puts her through hell and she should just accept it? I'll go on record to say part of it is Gilligan's fault because of how he established her character. Skyler's writing in S1 heightens and makes a joke of her more negative attributes (i.e. the talking pillow, the handjob scene) and doesn't offer a reasonable counterbalance. She's written to be naggy and petty and so that's how people saw her even into S2 and onwards when she became a more well-rounded character. for that and a few other reasons, I think S1 is handily the weakest.

Are we seriously still having Skyler White discourse in the year of our lord 2023?

I never understood the hate for Skyler, even back in the day. Her husband puts her through hell and she should just accept it? The sheer inconsistency in her character is laughably bad. Hell, in the last season she goes from one episode demanding that Jesse be killed to an episode or two later being appalled by killing... she wants nothing to do with the money then suddenly wants to be the account manager... Yes, some of the internet had an obsession with making Walt some hero, but that doesn't make her character any better.

ok, back to unpopular opinions. Killing Eve S4 is fine until the last two episodes, and actually most of the season is way better than S3. Comer is as great as ever and Fiona Shaw is at her absolute best in S4. The finale was awful but it's definitely not as bad a final season as Dexter or GoT. oh and I don't know how unpopular this is around here, but S4 was GoT's last great season and everything after that was middling to terrible. S7 was atrocious and it was still getting great scores on IMDb. Where were all those review-bombers when Tyrion was trying to get everyone to go beyond the wall to catch an ice zombie, or when that plan predictably goes terribly? WHERE WERE YOU

I don't know how unpopular this take is but Selena Gomez can't act for shit and Only Murders in the Building succeeds in spite of her presence in it, not because of it. Omg thank you. I was like, am I crazy here when reading the OMIB board because I don't know what the fuck people see in Gomez but it sure as fuck isn't her talent. It really is succeeding in spite of her, because I can't imagine how much more fun it would be with someone who had an ounce of expression, charisma, command, chemistry etc in comparison to the lifeless performance we get from this girl. Hailee Steinfeld, Zoey Deutch, Jaz Sinclair...the list goes on and on.

Deutch would be great at the comedy and blending with the general tone of the show (I imagine Haley Lu Richardson would also be good for a similar reason). I’m not as taken w Sinclair but I’ve only seen Sabrina. How Gomez has been nominated for anything for this performance… I’ll chalk it up to the world’s love for her “personality”.
