Only The Killing of a Sacred Deer and maybe Good Time.
From what you mentioned, I've only seen BR2049, and I thought that was pretty far from a masterpiece.

2049 is so frustratingly mediocre and this constant, tedious circlejerk over it only gets more and more annoying. Far from a masterpiece.

The Lost City of Z and mayyybe The Beguiled. Probably Song to Song once I rewatch it.

It's far too early to label something as a masterpiece. Blade Runner 2049 might be, and I'm in love with The Florida Project and Lady Bird as well, but I have to let them age at least a couple of years before making that kind of call.

There are far more mediocre films getting circlejerked by awards groups... pretty sure if you can handle that, then you can handle a few people on a message board,

What small fanbase this had to begin with has, if anything, gradually dwindled since its release. Good luck dealing with a new Star Wars if you're bothered by this.

The only movie I've seen more than once this year is Wind River, which while is a **** movie and one of my favorites of the year, still wouldn't be deemed a masterpiece in my eyes.

With a more skilled and experienced directing, that movie would have been a masterpiece. The writing and acting are masterful, simply one of the year's best

There are far more mediocre films getting circlejerked by awards groups... pretty sure if you can handle that, then you can handle a few people on a message board, I wasn't singularly implying that this board, or maybe some awards shows, are the only places wherein people shower it with unwarranted accolades; the praise extends beyond here to the vast majority of film circles, so it's obviously going to get a tad grating to hear it be called " the best science-fiction film of all time" or " better than Scott's original" on frequent occasion.

This year has been a steaming pile of garbage, but Blade Runner 2049 is the closest thing to a perfect 10 I've seen from this year. When the excitement of it wears off, time will tell if I still feel the same way or if it's better than the 1982 film or not, but right now, it stands as the only big takeaway from 2017 - other than the Safdie bros' Good Time.
I'm not a huge fan of PTA, so I can't imagine falling head over heels for Phantom Thread but I'd love to be proven wrong. The only film left from the year I expect could make an impact still is Call Me by Your Name.

I liked Blade Runner 2049, but it's not even remotely close to masterpiece territory, IMO.
I haven't seen Phantom Thread or Call Me By Your Name. I have high hopes for the former, the latter looks...OK. Not too interested, honestly.
Also, interesting avatar choice. I (surprisingly) loved Foxcatcher but never see people talking about it.

It’s my runner up for 2014 behind Birdman!

coming from someone who has been a Villeneuve fan for several years and enjoyed Blade Runner 2049 quite a bit, I can confirm it is NOT a masterpiece
