Well, I could only wish him well now for whatever he does on his spare time.

I read this with his beautiful, seeeeeerious voice in my head, in the style of what I imagine him reciting the poetry of Lord Byron or John Keats would be like.

He was basically a co-writer on Phantom Thread, so I'm ready for another collaboration with PTA in that regard (which would mean: more PTA in England). It's really sad that my dream of seeing him working with Alejandro G. Iñárritu is now an impossibility.

Loser McDad Outfit with Spielberg (back to camera) and Jim Sheridan - going for Oscar #4 baby! See how annoying this is when I do it for anybody but when you wackadoodles do it for Denzel in Gladiator 2 (maybe, doubt it) or Hannibal (yeah, nah) or ask for his 70 year old ass to suddenly work with "auteurs" when he hasn't much in 40 years I'm supposed to take you seriously? Pfffft Anyhoo.......maybe he is just saying "I shall never again..........eat at this restaurant for lunch"

I hadn't seen this. Has Spielberg produced anything with Sheridan? It looks like a business meeting and not a random lunch.

Pfffft Anyhoo.......maybe he is just saying "I shall never again..........eat at this restaurant for lunch" Still not coming back you thirsty geniuses of MAR.......DDL actually said he isn't coming back so "you can all choke on Austin Butler, Chalamet and other half-a sissies who can't carry my cobbled shoes" *********** Jim Sheridan has dispelled rumors around a possible return to acting by Daniel Day-Lewis, who gave an Oscar-winning performance in the Irish director’s drama My Left Foot and also starred in his subsequent films In The Name Of The Father and The Boxer. Rumors have been rife that Day-Lewis, who retired from acting in 2017, might be contemplating a return to the big screen after he was photographed by paparazzi coming out of a New York restaurant with Sheridan and Steven Spielberg in early January. Sheridan said the trio had been holding a meeting about a possible reboot of his long-gestating project about the Kennedy family, focused on its social climber-patriarch Joseph Kennedy. deadline.com/2024/03/jim-sheridan-dispels-daniel-day-lewis-acting-rumors-joseph-kennedy-steven-spielberg-1235844094/

Joe Kennedy's story is worthy of a proper series like The Sopranos. They'd touched on it a bit briefly in Boardwalk Empire's last seasons, but they could do so, so very much with that story, and I don't think a single film would be able to cut it.

The universe needs Oldman vs. Day-Lewis in a film.
