My brain still can’t process the fact this is a real image. Most unserious election ever This staged event only exists because Trump is a moron who wanted to one up Kamala.

I'm sick of his lies and I'm sick of the people who defend his lies. He disgusts me. I can't believe people want him representing America. I can't even look at him.

Absolutely Trump is winning. Republicans feel as good on Trump winning as Democrats felt on Biden in 2020. If you go on a state by state basis... Arizona - hard to imagine Harris winning this state. She's not even campaigning much. Leading me to believe she's conceded. Immigration is as big an issue this cycle as the George Floyd murder was in 2020. This state is the biggest immigration concerned state and Trump leads immigration by far. Then adding the mass shift of Hispanic voters away from the Democratic party, and the return of Jill Stein (who drew more in Arizona than any other battleground state in 2016), this state feels over. Nevada - Trump has won Clark county (Las Vegas) two straight days early voting. As goes Las Vegas so goes the rest of the state. Trump doesn't even need to win Vegas in the end, just cut into it. The overall state is slowly moving in the direction of Trump. A lot of votes to flip tho, I won't say this state is sealed. North Carolina - The hip parts in the triangle, the first time voters, and come of age voters shows some excitement for Harris. But North Carolina is Trump country otherwise. Arizona - Georgia - North Carolina are the Trump wall states, but had one blueish cycle. Georgia - Well, Stein isnt much of a factor here, but it's hard to get turnout like Biden did. 2020 Biden beats most people. I doubt Obama can even turn out the kinda voters that Biden did (at least Obama took a dip due to a non improving economy in 2012 - where 2020 wasnt really a cycle of economic concern - allowing Biden to push ahead). Biden turned out ridiculous numbers. Can this be done twice in a row? Unlikely. And really, cities like Atlanta, Philadelphia, and Detroit is Harris' last lifeline. Pennsylvania - It is shifting red. Will it revert back to blue after Trump? Who knows, but it's become the state where union members and the working class can and has shifted the demographic. And Trump has the edge with them. Still, the suburbs, the inner city, and the college towns (and Pennsylvania has lots of those) gives Harris more of a bump than in smaller contingents of those in North Carolina, Wisconsin, and Georgia. That's why it's closer, according to polls. Wisconsin - Like Pennsylvania, polls show close but this state is hard to poll. Highest error rate in the last 2 Presidential cycles. They were way off. Nobody knows who's voting here. Polling error favors Trump. My mom even wonders why that is. So common people even know this. Michigan - Well, Trump might have the hardest time battling the elements here. Michigan is controlled by the Democrats. Has a Democratic machine system in place. Gretchen Whitmer is the governor. And has instigated a ton of dropboxes in Democratic counties. But still, Michigan people obviously likes Trump because in just 4 years, he flipped Michigan 10 points from where Obama had it. Miles and miles of Trump signs all across the interstate once you leave the the principal Democratic counties: Wayne, Oakland, Ingham, Washtenaw. If this ends up being a pro-auto industry protect the core manufacturing jobs and Trump cuts into the Muslim margin who are abandoning Harris either for Trump or Stein, this state could show the kind of unstable, flimsy, and easily shifting kinda trends it has shown just 10 years ago.

The Republican candidate has tried a coup d'etat, is on tape attempting to overturn legitimate votes, cheated on his pregnant wife with a porn star, was convicted for sexually assaulting a woman, has 34 felon convictions, also admitted that people from FOX News give him advice on what to say. But sure, moral standards, honest elections, real journalism.

1. Free enterprise is a polite way of saying "we're going to let big business run wild". It's a standard-bearer of the Republican Old Guard (your McCains, your Romneys, etc) with no material benefit for the average citizen, electorally unpopular for the New Right, Democrats, and leftists. Most sane people are, at the very least, in favour of some degree of regulation after 2008. Look at Biden's economic legislation for what Harris will almost certainly continue. 2. Secure borders is a lie and classic carrot and stick political issue, evidenced by the tease of Trump's Wall that never came to fruition. Republicans killed a $118 billion bipartisan border bill TWICE, endorsed by the National Border Patrol Council and referred to by the senior director of government relations for the American Immigration Lawyers Association as “probably the most extensive border funding and security package that we’ve seen in decades", designed to give temporary emergency powers to stop rising unauthorised border crossings, overhaul the asylum process, provide legal council for unaccompanied children, and put more agents on the border. Dems wanted this and Trump sabotaged these efforts to control the problem it because it would be a "gift" to them in the election. 3. Honest elections? If we ignore that little thing about election denial on the night of the election without a slither of proof for assumption, the subsequently sophisticated legal process to overturn the results involving 'fake electors, inciting Jan 6 to halt the certification, and the federal prosecution - you would still have the 2000 election in Florida lol. Not a platform, a core tenant of any functioning democracy and they even failed on that. 4. Real journalism makes no sense as a policy, because real journalism should have no political affiliations. American news media is fucked across the board (conflict over corporate interests, sanitising American atrocities abroad, sensationalism) and from what I've seen, suffers from too much news anchor punditry when contrasted with other international institutions like the BBC, but that's because Republicans opened the floodgates of crass, opinion-based news and 'alternative facts' with the repeal of the Fairness Doctrine in 1987. Is talking about woke M&Ms real journalism? 5. Ethical Judiciary? See: Judge Aileen Cannon. See: Trump's threats to use the FBI and DOJ on political opponents. See: Republicans denying Garland an appointment confirmation hearing for the Supreme Court after Scalia's death under Obama at the closing of his term (11 months until an election), but rushing through Amy Coney Barrett's nomination (2 months until an election) to stack the court with pro-life justices to overturn Roe v Wade. Again, not a platform, a core tenant of any functioning democracy and they are failing on that too for political capital. 6. Civil Rights? Are they in favour of civil rights for women or trans people? 7. Moral standards is more ridiculous than "honest elections". Even Trump's most ardent of supporters have to preface that he isn't of the most morally virtuous character. You can legally refer to him as a rapist. Dennis Hastert, Roy Moore, and Matt Gaetz are pedophiles. Kristi Noem killed her dog. George Santos and Mark Robinson lol. 8. Does personal liberty count for women and trans people?

The_Cake_of_Roth Prove me otherwise. I asked for details about Harris ' program, I got no answers. The only topics I read about here were: I hate Trump; Harris is hot. Very useful... Isn't it obvious that Harris' program is expected to be a continuity of the Biden administration? You can look up their legislative agenda and see the record for yourself, good and bad. The "anti-Trump" campaigning focus is because that's the biggest motivator and any attempt to talk policy with a populist opponent, operating in bad faith and cult-like obedience, is futile and giving them ammo to attack you with. It's a very Aaron Sorkin mindset to believe you can give an uplifting speech about the benefits of your policy proposal and the audience will make an objective assessment of the candidates: fuck that, that's not real life. It's why the Left (the real Left, not Dems) consistently fail in places like the US and UK, they're too earnest and don't want to play the game.

Actually Harris said she doesn't want to do the same things as Biden. My first concern, as an European, is about foreign politics, and things like custom duties. I asked about those specifically, naming how Biden increased duties on foreign cars few months ago (if you go back, you'll see I posted some articles about this topic). It seems like Harris' position is still mysterious.

It seems like Harris' position is still mysterious. Biden doesn't know who or where he is 80% of the time. Aside from specific things Harris as said she'll do - which is no guarantee, because she's a slimy politician - it is safe to say that she'll continue the current administration's policies. Vague assurances that she doesn't want to do the same things as Biden is politician BS to play for votes.
