Silver has gotten weird after he missed 16 and is overcorrecting. It was a super weird election where Trump won with 46% of the vote and a super late October surprise (Clinton FBI investigation getting re opened right before the election) was likely the decisive element but it happened too late for the tracking polls to pick up the movement of voters before election day. Obviously a lot can happen in two months but Harris is the obvious frontrunner as of now. It's a pro incumbent cycle, Biden was only struggling due to his personal unpopularity, not the fundamentals of the election. |
