Clark and the Fever beat Reese and the Sky. Fun game for Caitlin, getting a cheap shoulder check whilst just standing there, having an opposition player shouting "you're a bitch" at her, and Reese just on the sideline cheering and applauding it. Do these morons know about rising tides and all that. Shocked Pup hasn't posted about the game

I've been able to tell the whole time that she and Reese didn't like each other despite the PC line they go with whenever the other comes up in interviews. That's good for women's basketball, if both their teams could get it together and it becomes a playoff rivalry it would generate a lot of public interest.

Pup is not watching these games. He does not know who any of these people are. I thought we already knew this.

Carter now apparently responded to a tweet on social media by saying "beside three point shooting what does she bring to the table?". A bit silly when she's top 5 in assists and only making 2 threes a game. Already comparisons to Rodman's comments about Bird although she's obviously not anywhere close to Bird's position at that point.

The discourse around the WNBA has been incredibly toxic for the last week and a half, so instead of rehashing that, here's a look at how some major outlets are ranking the 2024 rookies to this point.
USA Today has Angel Reese at #1. With Caitlin Clark at #2.
ESPN has Cameron Brink at #1, with Angel Reese at #2 ( though this must have been written before Brink's disastrous last game where she was held to 2 points and 6 rebounds). Caitlin Clark is surprisingly only ranked at #6 by ESPN, even though she was named Rookie Of The Month for May by the WNBA.

More importantly than Rookie rankings and stats, the best player in the WNBA and potentially the GOAT of women's basketball, A'ja Wilson, just had a historic game and is having a historic season.

I do think this is why you're starting to see resentment, you've got someone on pace to set the single season scoring record but the most popular player in the league is a rookie who's having a.......pretty good year but turning it over a lot. People are comparing this to when MJ broke in but he was also pretty much immediately the best player in the league so that was different. Even Bird was immediately a top 5 elite player. You had a lot of black players who said they resented him with his becoming immediately the most popular player in the league but they respected him when he played well enough to back it up.

At the end of the day people like winners. So far, Caitlin's stats prove that she's not the best rookie right now. I'm pretty sure people thought she would dominate but nope. She just got the most hype.

That's the difference between the WNBA and the NBA though - no one cares about the WNBA THAT much - I sure don't anyway - but I love watchng Caitlin Clark play........Aja Wilson is 6'4" and doesn't hit logo 3's so who cares to watch?..........and Clark is still so much fun I spent $175 per ticket to see her this Friday night in Washington (fyi TheAlwaysClassy )....I wouldn't pay $1 to see Aja Wilson......I would go see men play instead tbh I mentioned this somewhere but almost no one has done what Clark has done in her first 10 games really - not Aja Wilson ..........part of the appeal is the future upside and getting caught up in the buzz too........it's not dfferent from seeing The Strokes in 2000 tbh Clark became only the third player in WNBA history to record 150 points, 50 rebounds, and 50 assists within her first 10 games in the league. She joined only Penny Taylor and Lindsay Whalen to record such a feat. - Newsweek

She just got the most hype. Yeah, the WNBA naming Clark Rookie Of The Month shows where their money is invested . The fact that she's the league leader in turnovers should disqualify her alone, but as Stephen A Smith said, she's the "golden goose", so they are willing to lie to keep up the illusion. ESPN having her ranked 6th among rookies does suggest that some serious outlets refuse to drink the kool-aid. It was between Reese and Brink, but Brink's last few games have been terrible, and Reese stays consistent and averages nearly a double-double and leads the WNBA in offensive rebounds, so she's clearly the best rookie to this point in the season.

Lmao. I was just on YouTube and my feed has the top 5 wanna post. They post pics of 1-3 then skip 4 and 5 just to show Caitlin at 6. Lmao. That's the perfect example why people are annoyed by her hype.

Angel Reese gets her 3rd Double-Double of the season in the Chicago Sky's win over the Washington Mystics. Reese is also the leading rookie in a number of stats.

Over/Under on a permanent ban, because clearly no lessons have been learned Anyway, interesting comments by former NBA MVP Kevin Garnett on Reese and Clark both being feared and targeted in the league, and saying it's a sign of respect because they both transcend the league.
