WHAT WITH ALL THE HOOPLA OVER LISTS LATELY I GOT THE BUG AND DECIDED TO GET INTO THE ACT. BUT WAIT How can YOU help?! IT'S FUNNY YOU SHOULD ASK! Over the course of the next week or so, if you have time between hopefully doing as little as possible, overeating, working through personal traumas, getting showered with love, etc. PONDER, COMPILE, AND SEND ME YOUR TOP TENS IN THE FOLLOWING CATEGORIES THAT I WILL THEN MAKE INTO THAT THING WE ALL LOVE OVER ALL OTHERS... LISTS! (No commitment on how long these lists will be) (Don't post them here, PM them to me so I can fix the results)If you want to ignore certain categories, that's fine. If you can't fill a top 10 in certain categories, that's fine too. Though frowned upon. THE CATEGORIES ARE AS FOLLOWS. AND IN THE SPIRIT OF THE SEASON, EVEN THE PEOPLE WHO THINK THEY ARE TOO GOOD TO MAKE LISTS (YOU KNOW WHO YOU ARE) HAVE TO CONTRIBUTE TOO. THESE ONES SHOULD BE RANKED (10 points for first place, 1 point for tenth. If you only have 6 films on the list your first will have 6 points and go down from there, etc.)Top 10 films Top 10 films not in the English language Top 10 films directed by women Top 10 films 160 minutes or longer (arbitrary number, I know) Top 10 films 90 minutes or shorter Top 10 films released before 1970 Top 10 films that grossed $800 million or more worldwideTop 10 films SILENT FILMS THESE ONES YOU DON'T HAVE TO RANK. Define "silent films." Do movies made after advent of sound and thus include a soundtrack count? Chaplin's work or Tati's, for example. At what point is that line drawn? There are spoken words in The Illusionist, but no full sentences. Does gibberish speak such as in Shaun the Sheep Movie count as silent?

I would say stuff like Shaun the Sheep and The Illusionist shouldn't count, but actual(ish) silent films made after the silent period (The Artist, La Antena) should do. But... I mean I'd probably have The Illusionist on my list, so put it on if you want. |

I will submit my Top 10 movie list to you soon, you Limey swine ....and I will make it difficult in the way we made it difficult for King George III - and he went mad - to see if you will accomodate me ....... the way the moderators foolishly do .......then if I see signs of your weakness, I will pounce - and then I will dump this tea into the pond near my house I will do some of the other categories. Rules of engagement: 1. My lists must be called "the" official lists by me - the same way my albums / song lists are - even if it isn't true and no one has heard of most of them - for my ego........for consistency.......for all mankind. Amen. 2. What about countries that are in 2 continents like Turkey? I say do what feels right  Russia has to be Europe, surely. Turkey I could go either way on. That is one country I have always gone with the FIFA/UEFA classification of but I feel like it probably makes more sense to put it with Asia. On this note, I would support putting these countries in the rest of the world category, but I'm not making a ruling on it. |

What about countries that are in 2 continents like Turkey? I say do what feels right Russia has to be Europe, surely. Turkey I could go either way on. That is one country I have always gone with the FIFA/UEFA classification of but I feel like it probably makes more sense to put it with Asia. On this note, I would support putting these countries in the rest of the world category, but I'm not making a ruling on it. Modern day Anatolia was the Roman province of ASIA. I will consider Turkey to be Asian then also. Don’t think I’ve seen any Turkish films tho, but was asking for anyone who has |

I said fuck it and counted the Lord of the Rings trilogy as New Zealand movies so I could put them down under “rest of the world”

People know about movies lengh over 3vhours not over 160 minutes. Seccond top films by countries. Top 10 Films in English that were not made in US and the US Productionis almost nonexistent. (This include Canadian, UK and Australian films, as Continental European Films that were made in English like The Others) Top 10 European Films that arent in English TOP 10 Films latinamerican Top 10 asian Films (Russia, Greece arent included, should go in European for cultural reasons, while Cyprus and Turkey are for the same reasons) |

If you want to include films that ende in 176 minutes You can added around 3 hours or more I mean itsnt difficult to find. |
