Well some of these results are a little wonky since we didn't have as many people voting. Like Citizen Kane is the 5th greatest movie of all time but the 6th greatest movie from before 1970 And that top two for foreign language is so basic guys, that's what I would expect from r/movies. Get some Tarkovsky, Weerasethakul or Bunuel in there. Liked The Graduate at no. 1 pre 1970, though.

Given the lack of restrictions (freedom!) I think it was pretty obvious that some titles will sooner of later start to appear in more than one list but I was still quite shocked by the love for Brief Encounter, Le Bonheur, Videodrome, Y Tu Mama Tambien etc... not usually discussed here, at least that I'm aware, as for the Latin American list, echoing MovieSinner... yep, quite disappointing and not even the magic of all fairytales could make Pan's Labyrinth a mexican film, still pretty pleased to see El and The Motorcycle Diaries (gave it a rewatch recently and despite the amount of reimagination going on Latin America is the real main character so its inclusion is more than deserved ) in the top 10. And the top 2 in Foreing Film is depressing. But also love how things came together beautifully for the last top 10.
I do have a question, do you guys voted for one film in more than one list ?
Fun presentation ibbi, I love gifs so I was pretty entertained.

Persona not making the 90 Minutes or Less top 10 is just... I think the biggest surprise for me is The Graduate at the top of the Pre-1970 list. And I have nothing against it! Just didn't know the board loved it that much. Awesome stuff, ibbi! How big was the Christmas donation from Mattsby for that McCabe placement in the overall top 10?

How big was the Christmas donation from Mattsby for that McCabe placement in the overall top 10? 1. The Graduate popularity surprised me too. Especially as it didn't factor in ANYWHERE else but that was the theme here. 2. Let's just say don't anybody be surprised when Mattsby runs a Greatest Costume Design of All Time poll and A Ghost Story places in the top 5.

Thank you for putting this together, Buggie! I really enjoyed it. I've added A Brighter Summer Day to my watchlist - I had never heard of it before! Also... I can't stop staring at the gif of Emmanuelle Béart...

Um... Apocalypse Now is NOT longer than 160 minutes. Not even the redux. Not even the redux?? There are 4 versions of the film, and while the original is certainly not, the other 3 all definitely are. 3 out of 4 ain't bad.

Figured the longer version they listed was the Redux.

Sorry I didn't see it to participate! I must say some of these results are surprising. I had no idea the board loved The Graduate and Fury Road that much. Have not seen Le Bonheur, so I'm curious now.

I'm a little late seeing the results, but not many surprises and of course most of the movies I voted for didn't make the cut.
The biggest surprise for me is how well Le bonheur did. I thought I was the only one who loved it that much.
Brief Encounter did pretty well too and it was nice to see La belle noiseuse make the cut too.
