After a great 10 best movies awards in the 90s, this is really a big slowdown. Even Shakespeare in Love and Forrest Gump looks like masterpieces comparing with any of these movies (except Gandhi and Amadeus).-

Amadeus is easily the best, with The Last Emperor and Platoon right behind.
The worst is easily Out of Africa.

Rain Man, Terms of Endearment and Driving Miss Daisy winning oscars is one of the reasons why the 80s is considered a bad movie decade (which is not)

A few of these I still haven't watched, but Out of Africa is a strong candidate for most boring fucking movie I've ever seen.

The 80's might be my least favorite decade for movies, but the Academy made pretty good choices for the most part so I'd put just the winners ahead of the 2000's and 10's. Platoon and Gandhi are all timers for me and a lot of people would say Amadeus is as well which I like too. Was worried there'd be a bunch of votes for Chariots of Fire which I like so glad to see no one's said it yet.
Anyway, Terms of Endearment and Driving Miss Daisy are the two duds here for me. Really hate Terms of Endearment so I'll go with that. I guess the Jack/MacLaine storyline is okay and cute, but all the Winger stuff just really gets on my nerves.

I honestly don't dislike any of these films, but if I had to choose one, it would be Driving Miss Daisy.

Daisy, Africa, Endearment. Not big on Platoon either. A whole lot of meh winning in this decade - which is normal for the Oscars, I suppose

I've only seen about half of these. Rain Man and Terms of Endearment are both really bad.

I've seen all except Platoon and Driving Miss Daisy.
Chariots of Fire is a bit of a slog and quite unmemorable (except for the score and that opening scene at the beach). Sorry, but I can't stand it.
The Last Emperor is fine (great first half, not so great second half). Love the score, but the film isn't something I can see myself revisiting in a near future.
Rain Man is good for entertainment value, but it's also a bit dumb, and I'm surprised how so many people thought it worthy of Best Picture. It seems like something the Farrelly brothers could do.

I've only seen about half of these. Rain Man and Terms of Endearment are both really bad. This word by word except swap Rain Man with Driving Miss Daisy. Unimaginative filmmaking on full display.

Chariots of Fire, Out of Africa, and Driving Miss Daisy are three of the most boring movies to win Best Picture.

Unpopular opinión I love out of África. Romantic, epic great performances, one of the most epic themes. Meryl Streep was the highest paid actress of all time for this movie. I prefer seen Meryl Streep best paid for this, than the Rock for Black Adam or the Fast and the Furius part 36, or Margot Robbie in Barbie, or Di Caprio and JLo in Dont look UP. Or every Marvel Actor/actress from that silla things.
Not only but Out of África was based on a famous Novel Memoir that almost won Nobel Prize in 1962.
Not only but also one of the few movies leading by a woman, and made more for women.

Rough decade. Unpopular opinion maybe, but Gandhi bored me out of my mind.

Congratulationsto Robert Redford for Zero points. Despite of being one of his most weaked directed films(that still more than pretty solid. One day should I make a poll between Redgord and Eastwood). Out of África won this poll, so clearly Redford is much better director than actor.
