Ok, so Joe Burrow is 3-0 vs. Mahomes - which only Brady has 3 wins against him and no one has won 3 in a row except Burrow.......now he's 8-4.....are you people going to apologize to the man or not? Also, apologize to pacinoyes for your thinking Rafael Nadal is Djokovic's equal and also for taking this long to get the pacinoyes dry as the desert sense of humor. Nah just kidding, I'm not a huge Burrow fan or anything......but seriously that Nadal stuff is total bullshit.........

9-4 now....just saying MAR - possible premature evaluation in this thread - feel free to apologize to the man at any time .......also I kind of really like his girlfriend which is one pass he completed that we can all agree on: Olivia Holzmacher - possible future celebrity crush candidate in that she can go blonde too so it's like dating 2 people.....

Joe Burrow just ran backwards 30 yards and took a sack at the 50 yard line when he was in field goal range on 4th down, and got bailed out by some idiotic flag.

This guy is going to break the MAR board if he keeps up like this tbh - if he was a movie we would say he's "tonally all over the place"

Ok pacinoyes, I'll admit he's better than I expected.
My new rankings: (Dec 25, 2022)
1. Mahomes - I still think he's better than Allen. More playmaking abilities, a more elastic build, less shaky games, but a lesser runner. Allen is 0-2 against him in the playoffs also, so until that changes.... most teams fear the Chiefs more than the Bills.
2. Allen - He's a powerful runner, has a great arm, but has 18 turnovers and sometimes look rather stiff offensively.. Still, I agree with the consensus that it's currently Allen vs Mahomes.
3. Prescott - Similar to Allen, his turnovers has really dominated the narrative this year - and his last 2 overall games before the Eagles looked a bit........ icky. But still, since the 98 yard game ending drive against the Texans.... the guy has been offensively ripping, and Cowboys are scoring points left to right. And that Eagles win was pretty awesome and deserves to get him up a few spots.
4. Hurts - I'm not a fan of running Quarterbacks. If anything Justin Fields is probably a better runner just on an awful team. I think if they switched teams, Fields gets his stats on either team where Hurts won't even get his stats in Chicago. Still 13-2..... so gotta give him Top 5. His backup today didn't look like a huge dropoff (maybe even an improvement) which raises a few eyebrows. Is it really Hurts or the team is just that good?
5. Burrow - Stock definitely trending up, but the refs have bailed him out a few times against the Bucs. A few late seconds turnovers the Patriots and Chiefs committed bailed him out a bit too. And against the Titans in the playoffs last year, Tannehill's 3 picks helped him out greatly. But beyond his usual penchant for luck, I think he's done enough to deserve Top 5.
6. Tua - 3 game losing streak. Buffalo wasn't his fault, but the Chargers and 49ers were definitely ugly and disappointing.
7. Lawrence - Moving on up. His season hinges on the Titans. it's a one game year for him and his team. Doesn't matter what he does vs the Texans next week, as it doesn't affect anything..... the Titans is the game he needs to win.
8. Herbert - Up and down. Sometimes he makes some great plays, sometimes he drags his team down, but there's not enough quality ahead of him.
9. Jackson - Feels overall underwhelming, and 7 out of 11 of his games has him below a 90 QB rating. But still, the brand of football that the Ravens play is good in the postseason. Those low scoring contests are prone for a few Raven sized upsets over higher profile teams.
10. Smith - Really trending down. Maybe it's his team, but anyone watching in the last 3 games knows he's been a part of it.

ESPN ranked quatrbacks yesterday.......which made me realize you should literally kill a man if you have the chance to get a great quaterback Here's the ESPN full list: No. 1: Patrick Mahomes, Chiefs No. 2: Joe Burrow, Bengals No. 3: Josh Allen, Bills No. 4: Aaron Rodgers, Jets No. 5: Justin Herbert, Chargers No. 6: Jalen Hurts, Eagles No. 7: Lamar Jackson, Ravens No. 8: Trevor Lawrence, Jaguars No. 9: Dak Prescott, Cowboys No. 10: Matthew Stafford, Rams

No. 5: Justin Herbert, Chargers I get that he has a ridiculous amount of arm talent and Lombardi's offense was holding him back, but I don't understand launching Herbert into the top 5 yet. His pre-snap processing is subpar imo, which contributes to his weak offensive line failing to pick up on pressures and his difficulties with getting the ball away sooner for his inevitable dump-off. I need to see him win more and have less dud games. Outstanding QBs regularly have to overcome the circumstances around them, yet Herbert gets a pass because he threw an awesome TD against the Raiders to make it a 7-point loss or something. If he had shown up at all, he would've blown out the Jags instead of giving up one of the worst comebacks in playoff history. Right now, I can't put him over Hurts (dual-threat with big arm who showed out in the Super Bowl) or Lamar (similarly bad offensive pieces as Herbert yet regularly elevated them to wins and has an MVP).

Here's Nick Wright's take:
|
|
|
Post by pacinoyes on Aug 5, 2023 11:38:41 GMT
Well Nick Wright thinks Federer and Nadal are both the GOATs more than Djokovic which is at best highly dubious - it's less subjective than movies or acting - where you can "say" - as an opinion - that Nicole Kidman is "an equal" to Kate Winslet & Cate Blanchett (she absolutely is fncking not) and just move on.......but sports have clearer goalposts and that sports opinion is just unsustainable by almost all factual metrics....and he totally underestmated Nikola Jokić (anti-Serbian bias much Nick?) and on this list I guess thinks a guy who hasn't thrown a professional pass (?) is a tier above 2 MVP winners......ok, interesting theory...... Burrow continues his roll over MAR btw - I mean Burrow is pretty much considered better than Allen everywhere now - the consensus number 2 of every ranking I see.......just sayin'

I generally like Nick Wright as an analyst, but that's a laughable tier list. Allen below Lawrence is just his blatant bias - he liked Lawrence coming out of college and he's been the biggest Bills hater ever since they lost that classic playoff game to his Chiefs. Caleb Williams being tier 3 already is insane and just Wright being his gambler self trying to be be the one who "called it" if he pans out. Fields at tier 4 is a joke; he's young and has room to grow but right now he's everything people said Lamar was (great runner, brutal passer). Dak, perennial underperformer, coming off a subpar season being on the same tier as 2 MVPs and one of the best arm talents in the league; idk why he did that aside from feeling like he needed 4 people on tier 4 (why not Stafford or Tua?).

Jackson has 1 playoff win. He's just as much an underperformer as Dak. In the postseason - since that's what I assume you're talking about. And I don't care about injuries, or anything...... fact is neither have done anything in the playoffs. And Herbert has 0 playoff wins.
