We've discussed a lot of the other categories but let's talk about the main one, dammit! This year we're having 10 secured slots in BP so which movies do you think will fill'em?

At this point I'm thinking:
- Belfast - Nightmare Alley - The Power of the Dog - Dune - Licorice Pizza - Don't Look Up - West Side Story - King Richard - The Tragedy of Macbeth - Spencer

At this point I'm thinking: - Belfast - Nightmare Alley - The Power of the Dog - Dune - Licorice Pizza - Don't Look Up - West Side Story - King Richard - The Tragedy of Macbeth - Spencer I'd swap West Side Story for House of Gucci (I think at least one Ridley Scott gets in, and this one looks to be the more bankable option), but the others are what I'm currently predicting. I also wouldn't sleep on Passing or The Lost Daughter; I feel like Netflix will shotgun as many nominees as possible.

I'm with Stephen, Jango's 10 but Gucci instead of West Side Story. I think if Gucci replaces anything, it's Spencer. Fanbotism aside, I'm not sure why people are doubting WSS. Every Spielberg prestige picture since Munich has been nominated for BP and I think his big musical is in pretty good position to do the same, even despite the risk factors (previous BP-winning version, Ansel).

I'm with Stephen, Jango's 10 but Gucci instead of West Side Story. This was tough in what to put at number 10. I was going to take Spencer our for House of Gucci but with the potential Best Actress winner plus possible Best Director nomination, I think Spencer can get in. It does feel weird leaving West Side Story out, and JangoB makes a great point, but I don’t know it feels like we have a pretty solid 8 unless Don’t Look Up and Nightmare Alley completely flop which I don’t see happening, and that only leaves two spots. I think Scott will get in for something, and I lean towards HoG because it shouldn’t flop (at least not as badly as TLD), but TLD’s story may resonate more. And I already said why I think Spencer is in.

Unpredicting Spencer and replacing it with House of Gucci Same except I’m putting West Side Story now. I think Stewart still wins, but there seems to be a wide divide between critics and audiences with Spencer. Plus, its MC score is 78 right now. To be fair it is almost 80, but I don’t think it will have enough support to get into BP even if there is a small amount of voters who really love it.

Yeah, I also think Stewart is winning but the movie itself kinda seems to be Jackie all over again. So even though Diana and crown bashing are quite popular right now, it seems that the movie won't be a unifying enough contender to get in.

I never voted for Spencer. However, I did vote for Cyrano and not sure about that one anymore. The trailer looks good though.

Changing my mind on Dune. Thought it was going to get the Blade Runner treatment but it really seems to be a big part of the public consciousness in a way 2049 never was. Definitely a lot of water cooler talk. It has come up in my fantasy football groupchat a few times now.

Safe Belfast Licorice Pizza Don’t Look Up The Power of the Dog Dune
Second Tier The Tragedy of Macbeth King Richard
Third Tier Being the Ricardos West Side Story House of Gucci/The Last Duel
It feels weird not to have something from Fox Searchlight in, but I had to take out something to fit Being the Ricardos in.
