That said, I would kill for a Safdie Bros. take on the Cuban Missile Crisis. Nothing but anxiety in suits. lmao this needs to happen Robert Pattinson as JFK. Sandler as McNamara. Benny Safdie as Sorensen.

Trivia: Emily Blunt has never appeared in a Best Picture nominee... Isn't that shocking? All of her peers (Natalie Portman, Scarlett Johansson, Michelle Williams, Keira Knightley, Anne Hathaway, Kirsten Dunst, Rachel McAdams...) have appeared in at least one each.
I'm guessing that statistic will change soon...

RDJ vs De Niro vs Gosling Magaro is maybe a better bet than 2 of these tbh ......it's stacked He's just not though.

Oh I'd say he quite certainly has a shot ahead of the guy playing Ken - sorry that role is not winning - and a 2 time winner at 80 who is a villain .........the winning of those 2 guys seems a bit unlikely to me sight unseen........... maybe not.......... we'll see ..........I said maybe.......grrrrrrrr

Seems like someone is letting their (proudly flaunted) anti-Barbie attitude and general antipathy towards RDJ cloud their judgment... On the contrary - I didn't rank Magaro ahead of Downey (?) ...........but I do rank him over the guy playing a doll in a comedy where he's also a villain no less - given the historic comedy and doll bias and such (um)Trust me I'm going to say much more controversial things - every day - than Magaro is maybe in a better spot to win than Gosling and De Niro (sight unseen) - it's June July 19th ffs (corrected!) .........

No. I distinctly remember. June 19th was last month.

I don't agree about Magaro, but my bad for thinking you meant Downey. I had assumed you were much more bullish on De Niro's winning chances.

She came close three times for an acting Oscar — A Quiet Place, Mary Poppins Returns, and The Girl On The Train.

I'm starting to think Barbenheimer shouldn't have been a thing. Folks like these are gonna ruin the film for the people who actually care about it.

Not sure how confirmed this is... but just a heads up I assume this won’t be the case for Dolby cinemas, but just in case, I’ll pee before showtime

This is great. Probably the most I've ever seen Nolan laugh, and it's hilarious how much his introversion sharply contrasts with RDJ, who is just pure charisma here.

Downey listening to pacinoyes' often raved - for their singles anyway - Sleaford Mods which the British guy doesn't seem (hmmmm?) to know is kind of cool........ngl, with Martin Stett prasing my 10/10 Queen is Dead recommendation a bit- I feel my music posts are finally starting to land

When I got out of my screening of Oppenheimer, I walked into a sea of pink. And they were all heading towards the theater I had just exited.
I am not entirely sure why anyone would follow Barbie up with a solemn three-hour piece about the horrors of atomic warfare, but you do you, boo.

Well, if I were doing this double-feature thing, I'd definitely start with Barbie. See the silly one first, the (hopefully) haunting one second. If I were to do it the other way round, I'd just be thinking about Oppenheimer instead of getting drawn into Barbie.

And 1917 was first. But to be fair, I had to go to a different theatre for Little Women so there was a bit of time to chew on the Mendes one.

I mean, I would say that you should've switched them around so you could end on a good movie, but that's just me.
