I just saw the film. Personally I would label it a drama, but for awards purposes, it should be under comedy/musical for the Globes and ACE awards. There's a lot of music in the film. There are hilarious sex jokes in sign language. Derbez delivers a comedic performance as the snotty and uppity music teacher. Look at it this way: it is just as comedic as Ladybird or Lost in Translation. I suppose Apple could choose to go drama here, but that would be undermine the chances of Finch or The Tragedy of Macbeth getting nominated for Best Drama.

I can tell you this - there is no way Leonardo DiCaprio is missing a Globe nod if they have those this year (um) especially if DLU is nodded for picture - he has 13 Globe nods.......no one is even close to him of current actors Hanks has 10, Washington 9.............and they are in their 60s......... DiCaprio is 46 :laugh:

.....He just never misses there for a nomination....

I will also say if the nomination is between Leto and Pacino .........well .......Leto may get it everywhere else .......but the Globes are Pacino's bread and butter award they could both get in there at least - he has a jaw dropping 19 nominations ......he's the DiCaprio of his generation or something there ..... :uhoh:

I still think you're underestimating just how thirsty some actors/directors are for awards. They'll happily let the HFPA's past indiscretions slide, if it means they get a boost in the race.
