I just rewatched My Blueberry Nights. Can't believe its been 14 years since I first saw it....certainly didn't feel so long.
Wong Kar-wai truly knows sweetness. I wonder how The Lady from Shanghai remake would've turned out had Kidman not dropped out. Guessing that would've had his characteristic sweet and intriguing touch.
So I guess its either that or Cinema Paradiso.....you can get a rotten tooth from that movie its so damn sweet.

Our Little Sister is the one I keep coming back to. I want to lose myself in it. Yeah, thinking of an actual answer to the OP's question, this one came to mind to me too. And I absolutely share your desire to lose yourself in it. If there's a flaw with that movie, it's that it's not like 5 hours long. 'Cause I didn't wanna get out of it.

A similarly lovely film is Little Forest, which is very possibly 50% cooking montages. Shunji Iwai's Hana and Alice films are also lovely balls of adorableness. Actually, Japan in general is great at this. (I'm counting Little Forest in here as Japanese, since it's based on a Japanese manga.)

Sweet as the honey from all those bees. Brutal.Anyway, I want to throw in these picks: Millennium Actress (2001, Dir. Satoshi Kon) Fallen Angels (1995, Dir. Wong Kar Wai) Babe (1995, Dir. Chris Noonan)

Sweet as the honey from all those bees. I couldn't care less about Culkin's death scene. It's still one of the most adorable movies ever.

Whisper of the Heart is pretty much a warm hug disguised as a movie. Such a pure, sweet film.

Probably A Room with a View because of how Julian Sands is with Helena Bonham Carter.
