I feel like Brady is the default choice these days and that's fair but the team that Belichick built was enduring and allowed him more stabs at Super Bowls.
Still not to take away from his accomplishments but I think Dan Marino is the best passer of all time but the Miami dynasty was fading after his first 3 years in the league. Favre can throw the ball but his Achilles were late second interceptions. He'd probably be next on my favorites list considering he never got an all time great coach and there were lots of changes to his team during various periods of his career but he remained dominant.
Loved Elway and what he did with a franchise known for failure. By the time Shanahan came around, Broncos offense were a machine. Loved Peyton and Montana and theyre goats for sure.
And I personally don't feel like Brees and Rodgers even belongs here but we'll see if Rodgers has anything more to add to his legacy.
And before people say "youre missing Aikman." Im a Cowboys fan and i don't think hes a goat.

I've said before that I think the position has changed so much so quickly that I don't feel comfortable saying someone is the absolute greatest - that's not even getting into how reliant the position inherently is on the talent of those around them. I do want to give a shoutout to Johnny Unitas since A) he's the first modern quarterback and maybe the biggest leap forward for the position (though Sammy Baugh also has a claim there), B) he was the consensus GOAT until the mid-'90s when almost all the guys you listed had staked their claim, and C) I'm from Baltimore.

I think Manning would have won on any team where Brady would not .......so Manning is my default pick though the position is synonymous with leadership so I'm fine with Brady getting all the plaudits
My favorite was Elway - he was great fun to watch.........

I was the biggest Peyton fan in the world growing up but at this point it has to be Brady. 7 rings and likely to retire as the all time yardage and TD pass leader. It just seems absurd to say anyone else. Peyton, Favre, and Marino might have had higher peaks, but in terms of accomplishments over an entire career it's Brady. He's in is mid 40's and still an elite QB, might still be the 2nd best in the league behind Mahomes as of right now.

Brady. He maintained his concentration. That's part of it, in all sports.

I voted for Tom Brady. Keep in mind, I am a lifelong Buffalo Bills fan since age 8. The Jets, Dolphins, and especially the Patriots, have been my "least favorite teams".
Brady deserves to be #1 for the following reasons:
1. 8 MVP trophies. 5 Super Bowl MVPs. 3 League. 2. He's been to 10 Super Bowls. Won 7 of them. 3. Brady has consistently put up great stats, despite playing in cold weather and not always having top notch receivers.
Just out of curiosity, why didn't Otto Graham make the polling options? You guys included Drew Brees and Dan Marino, but no Graham.
Lets remember that Graham has the highest winning percentage for an NFL quarterback and led the Browns to 10 straight championship appearances.

I’m not sure how you can make a case against Brady at this point tbh.

I wonder if right now Mahomes might be as high as 3rd on this poll ........just sayin'
In sport in 2023 you have "best" arguments in some way for Mahomes, McDavid (NHL), Jokic (NBA - Best Big Man), Djokovic (tennis).....what a time to be alive.....

B) he was the consensus GOAT until the mid-'90s when almost all the guys you listed had staked their claim, and C) I'm from Baltimore. We can seriously argue if he was the consensus GOAT. Montana dominated the goat discussion for 15 years from '84-'99 until Elway claimed his 2nd Super Bowl. Still probably most people thought Montana was more legendary, but Elway was the feel good story. Before Montana..... absolutely Unitas was clear #1. That 70s generation of Staubach, Bradshaw, and Stabler were coming for him - but they came short of Unitas when it was all said and done. Staubach possibly due to his early retirement. Stabler's glory situated within primarily 5 years.... after his Super Bowl he slowly started his decline. And Bradshaw, because I think some people questioned his abilities - and most thought the Steel Curtain was responsible for that dynasty - and he might not have won even 1 Super Bowl in a historically middling franchise. I did forget Unitas.... my bad. he should've probably replaced Rodgers, Brees, or Staubach on my list. And we can start putting Mahomes in place of at least Rodgers or Staubach. Because Rodgers doesn't win in the playoffs it's been recently proven.
