I’m honestly of the opinion that Aaron Rodgers’s only claim to GOAT status is that, until Patrick Mahomes came along, he was definitely the most gifted, most talented quarterback to ever play the position. Brady has all the accolades and rings, he is the GOAT but not the most talented to ever play the position. Rodgers has the stats and the innate natural talent but now Mahomes stormed onto the scene and surpassed Rodgers as the most gifted to ever play the position, taking away Rodgers’s claim to the GOAT conversation. I think that at this point the GOAT debate is down to Brady, Mahomes, Montana. Everyone else need not apply
And honestly a part of me thinks that Rodgers was forced into the GOAT conversation after Manning retired just to give the Brady haters an alternative from this era to rally around

As good as Mahomes is, he's never had to play against another GOAT except Brady. Which he's 0-2 against.
He is winless against another GOAT. He's beaten Lamar Jackson, Josh Allen, Jimmy Garoppolo, Brock Purdy, and Jalen Hurts.... none of which are GOATs.
The only win you can argue he's had is..... Joe Burrow, but I'm not that quick to declare him a GOAT just yet with his division getting back to its historical strength I don't think it's unlikely Bengals are last next year as well even if he's healthy.
Brady beat GOATs in playoffs. Manning beat GOATs in playoffs. Montana beat them. Favre beat them. Elway beat them. Kelly beat them.
Even Marino for his playoff failures against Montana and Kelly, at least has that one win against Montana in 1994.
Mahomes has never ever beaten a GOAT before. So yes, I don't think is unreasonable to suggest Marino, Elway, Favre, and Manning are right in the conversation like some people, especially dude above me^ is claiming Mahomes is insurmountably Top 3.

Dan Marino got a vote but Jim Kelly can't even win that best quarterback to never win a Super Bowl thing......the Buffalo erasure is fncking obscene you frontrunners......... but let's keep this in mind at least I actually met Jim Kelly when I was like 10 years old. Nice guy. Always been classy. I met him when I was with the Boy Scouts during a charity dinner -- as people know I live near Buffalo NY.
I appreciate you mentioning Jimbo, pacinoyes. And yes, Kelly faced off against Marino three times in the postseason. All three went to Kelly. During the regular season, it was 11 to 7 in favor Kelly.
